Create Your Own Stained Glass Window – 90 points

In this project you will be assessed on your ability to graph linear equations by creating your own stained glass window. This project will be due THE FIRST DAY I SEE YOU FROM YOUR RETURN FROM WINTER BREAK.

NO LATE ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED!!

Follow the steps below to create your own stained glass window.

1. Complete each of the input-output tables for the 7 given equations. You may choose the

x-value for the blank ones, but you must use the x’s given to you when provided. You also must find the x-value for whatever y-value is provided. You will be turning in this sheet as your work page.

2. Use the values from your input-output tables to graph each of the linear equations on the same coordinate plane attached to this worksheet. When you graph these linear equations please make sure that you…

a. Use a ruler to make your lines.

b. Your lines extend all of the way to the edges of your coordinate plane.

c. You have put arrows on the ends of all of your lines.

3. Go back and use your ruler to trace each of your lines using a black marker.

4. Now it is time to be creative! You are going to color in the sections you created by graphing your linear equations. The only rules are…

a. You cannot create a new section within a section.

b. You cannot color a section in black.

c. You must use markers to color in your stained glass window. When you use marker, you will be able to hold your graph up to the window, and it will look like a stained glass window. You will not get the same effect with crayon or color pencil.

5. When you’re completely done graphing and coloring, cut out the stained window design so that you don’t have any white margins showing.

How will you be graded? Take a look at the grading rubric below. It will be worth a LABS/PROJECT grade.
