IMPORTANT: Driver CD contains drivers and utilities. Please refer to Smart Setup User Guide for more detail.
IMPORTANT: Driver CD (Quick USB Wizard) can be downloaded from Acer’s website.
For user wants to install the OS manually without Smart Setup, this document provides you an OS installation guide for Veriton P530 F2, including,
• Windows 8
• Windows 7 SP1
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 Workstation Update 4
Windows 8
Intel Onboard SATA RAID
Below information describes how to manually install Windows 8 on Veriton P530 F2 with Intel Onboard SATA RAID.
BIOS Required
Veriton P530 F2 BIOS 1.1 (or later) is required to support Windows 8.

Configuring Intel Onboard SATA RAID
Please refer to Appendix B. for Intel Onboard SATA RAID configuration.
Installation Tips
NOTE. Windows 8 can detect Intel Onboard SATA RAID. Please still load the RAID driver during OS installation.
NOTE. You need an external USB floppy drive or USB Flash drive to load RAID driver during the OS installation.
NOTE. Please copy Intel Onboard SATA RAID driver from Driver CD to a floppy diskette or USB flash drive.
1. Please boot the system from the Windows 8 DVD. Follow the instructions to do the installation.
2. Please Insert the USB flash which includes the Intel Onboard SATA RAID driver and click on “Load Driver”.
3. Specify the folder that includes the Intel onboard SATA RAID driver and the system will show the available driver. Select “Intel (R) C600/C220 series chipset SATA RAID Controller (C:\..\iaStorA.inf)” as target driver.
4. After loading the RAID driver, you could click “Drive options” to partition the drive or click “Next” to use default disk partition setting directly.
5. Follow the normal procedure to finish the installation.
Chipset Driver Package Installation
1. Please insert the Driver CD into the optical drive.
2. Select “Intel Chipset Generic Driver (All Language)” to install the chipset driver.
3. Follow the instruction to install the driver and reboot the server after the chipset driver is installed.
Gigabit Ethernet Driver Installation
1. Please insert the Driver CD into the optical drive.
2. Select “Intel Lan Generic Driver (All Language)” to install the Gigabit Ethernet driver.
6. Follow the instruction, accept the license agreement and use the default setting to complete the driver installation.
7. The driver and PROSet utility will be installed together automatically.
Graphics Card Driver Installation
1. Please insert the Driver CD into the optical drive.
8. Select “nVidia VGA Generic Driver (All Language)” to install the graphic card driver.
9. Follow the instruction to install the driver and reboot the server after the chipset driver is installed.
TPM Driver Installation (Optional)
NOTE: TPM driver is only needed when TPM module is installed.
Windows 8 has built-in driver for TPM. You don’t need to install additional TPM driver manually.
RAID Utility Installation
1. Please insert the Driver CD into the optical drive.
10. Follow the instruction and use the default setting to complete the RAID Utility Installation.
Network Utility Installation
The PROSet utility for the onboard Gigabit Ethernet controller will be installed automatically when you installing the onboard Gigabit Ethernet driver.
Audio Driver Installation
1. Please insert the Driver CD into the optical drive.
11. Select “Realtek Audio Generic Driver (All Language)” to install the audio driver.
12. Follow the instruction and use the default setting to complete the audio driver Installation.
13. After installing the driver, you would see Realtek High Definition Audio being listed in Sound, video and game controllers.
USB 3.0 Driver Installation
1. Please insert the Driver CD into the optical drive.
14. Select “Renesas USB 3.0 Generic Driver (All Language)” to install the USB 3.0 driver.
15. Follow the instruction and use the default setting to complete the audio driver Installation.
After installing the driver, you would see Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller being listed in Universal Serial Bus controllers.
MegaRAID 9240-4i/9260-8i
Below information describes how to manually install Windows 8 on Veriton P530 F2 with MegaRAID 9240-4i/9260-8i.

Installation Tips
NOTE. When you install OS with MegaRAID, please load BIOS default settings.
NOTE. The Windows 8 can detect MegaRAID 9240-4i/9260-8i. Please load the RAID driver during OS installation.

2. Please enter the product key to active Windows and follow the instructions.
3. When you see the “Where do you want to install Windows?” on the screen, please insert the floppy diskette or USB flash which includes MegaRAID 9240-4i/9260-8i driver and click on Load Driver.
4. Click on Browse and select directory of the floppy or USB flash that contains the driver.
5. Click on OK. You will see the supported devices listed.
6. Select “LSI MegaRAID SAS 9260-8i (C:\...\megasa2.inf)” and click on Next.
7. After loading the RAID driver, you could click “Drive options” to partition the drive or click “Next” to use default disk partition setting directly.
8. Please follow the instructions to finish the installation.
Chipset Driver Package Installation
1. Please insert the Driver CD into the optical drive.
2. Select “Intel Chipset Generic Driver” to install the chipset driver.
3. Follow the instruction to install the driver and reboot the server after the chipset driver is installed.
Gigabit Ethernet Driver Installation
1. Please insert the Driver CD into the optical drive.
3. Select “Intel Lan Generic Driver” to install the Gigabit Ethernet driver.
16. Follow the instruction, accept the license agreement and use the default setting to complete the driver installation.
17. The driver and PROSet utility will be installed together automatically.
Graphics Card Driver Installation
1. Please insert the Driver CD into the optical drive.
18. Select “nVidia VGA Generic Driver” to install the graphic card driver.
19. Follow the instruction to install the driver and reboot the server after the chipset driver is installed.
TPM Driver Installation (Optional)
NOTE: TPM driver is only needed when TPM module is installed. Windows 8 has built-in driver for TPM. You don’t need to install additional TPM driver manually.
MegaRAID Storage Manager Utility Installation
1. Please download driver for Acer website.
20. Follow the instruction and input proper information with the default setting to complete the RAID Utility Installation.
Network Utility Installation
The PROSet utility for the onboard Gigabit Ethernet controller will be installed automatically when you installing the onboard Gigabit Ethernet driver.
Audio Driver Installation
1. Please insert the Driver CD into the optical drive.
21. Select “Realtek Audio Generic Driver” to install the audio driver.
22. Follow the instruction and use the default setting to complete the audio driver Installation.
23. After installing the driver, you would see Realtek High Definition Audio being listed in Sound, video and game controllers.
USB 3.0 Driver Installation
1. Please insert the Driver CD into the optical drive.
24. Select “Renesas USB 3.0 Generic Driver” to install the USB 3.0 driver.

Windows 7 SP1
Intel Onboard SATA RAID
Below information describes how to manually install Windows 7 SP1 on Veriton P530 F2 with Intel Onboard SATA RAID.

1. Please insert the Driver CD into the optical drive.
4. Select “Intel Lan Generic Driver” to install the Gigabit Ethernet driver.
30. Follow the instruction, accept the license agreement and use the default setting to complete the driver installation.
31. The driver and PROSet utility will be installed together automatically.
Graphics Card Driver Installation
NOTE. Windows 7 SP1 will treat the graphics card as Standard VGA controller.
1. Windows 7 SP1 built-in driver supports video crad device.
32. You would see Standard VGA Graphics Adapter listed in Display adapters of Device Manager.
33. Select “nVidia VGA Generic Driver” to install the graphic card driver.
34. Follow the instruction to install the driver and reboot the server after the chipset driver is installed.
After installing the driver, you would see model name of graphics card being listed in Universal Serial Bus controllers.
TPM Driver Installation (Optional)
NOTE: TPM driver is only needed when TPM module is installed.
Windows 7 SP1 has built-in driver for TPM. You don’t need to install additional TPM driver manually.
RAID Utility Installation
1. Please insert the Driver CD into the optical drive.
35. Execute the RAID utility and then follow the instruction to complete the RAID Utility Installation.
36. Follow the instruction and use the default setting to complete the RAID Utility Installation.
Network Utility Installation
The PROSet utility for the onboard Gigabit Ethernet controller will be installed automatically when you installing the onboard Gigabit Ethernet driver.
Audio Driver Installation
1. Please insert the Driver CD into the optical drive.
37. Select “Realtek Audio Generic Driver” to install the audio driver.
38. Follow the instruction and use the default setting to complete the audio driver Installation.
After installing the driver, you would see NVIDA High Definition Audio being listed in Sound, video and game controllers.
USB 3.0 Driver Installation
1. Please insert the Driver CD into the optical drive.
39. Select “Renesas USB 3.0 Generic Driver” to install the USB 3.0 driver.
40. Follow the instruction and use the default setting to complete the audio driver Installation.
After installing the driver, you would see Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller being listed in Universal Serial Bus controllers.
MegaRAID 9240-4i/9260-8i

Onboard SATA
Below information describes how to manually install Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 Workstation Update 4 on Veriton P530 F2 with Onboard SATA.

Installation Tips
1. Please boot the system from the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 Workstation Update 4.
2. At Welcome Menu, please press Enter.
3. Follow the instruction for the installation.
4. Please Select Software Development Workstation.
5. Please follow the normal procedure to finish the installation.
Gigabit Ethernet Driver Installation
NOTE. The onboard Gigabit Ethernet driver is included in the Drive CD. Please check path of the driver in Windows OS environment first and copy the driver from the Drive CD to HDD (e.g. /tmp directory)
1. Please switch to console mode.
2. Stop network service
# service network stop
3. Remove the OS built-in NIC driver
# rmmod igb
4. Change the directory to the driver source and install the driver
# cd /tmp
# tar zxvf igb-.tar.gz
# cd igb -/src/
# make install
# modprobe igb
5. Start the network service to bring up both of the network interfaces.
# service network start
6. Use the network configuration utility like system-config-network to configure the network interfaces.
Graphics Card Driver Installation
NOTE. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 Workstation Update 4 has a built-in driver to support graphics card. You would see the graphics card, nVIDIA Tesla C2050, detected by below command:
# lspci | grep VGA
83:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDA Corporation GF100 [Tesla C2050 / C2070] (rev a3)
APPENDIX A: Intel onboard SAS RAID (SATA Mode) CONFIGURATION
Enabling Intel Onboard SAS RAID (SATA Mode)
NOTE. The Intel Onboard SAS RAID on Veriton P530 F2 only support SATA mode.
51. Turn on the server. If the server is already turned on, please close all open applications and then restart the server.
52. Please enter BIOS Setup during POST.
53. Please select Advanced.
54. Select SCU Configuration.
55. You would see below information:
SCU devices [Enabled]
SCU RAID Option ROM/UEFI Driver [Enabled]
56. Make sure the SCU and SCU RAID Option ROM/UEFI Driver options are enabled
57. Please press F4 to save the setting and exit.
Set RAID Controller in EFI Mode or Legacy Mode
NOTE. For EFI mode, we recommended completing the RAID configuration in Legacy mode first and then enter BIOS Setup to change Launch Storage OpROM Policy option to “EFI only” mode.
1. Please enter BIOS Setup during POST
58. Please select Advanced.
59. Please select PCIe/PCI/PnP Configuration.
60. You would see below information.
Launch Storage OpROM Policy [Legacy Only]
NOTE. The default setting is Legacy Only.
61. To enable Legacy mode of RAID controller, please keep Launch Storage OpROM Policy as “Legacy only”. To enable EFI mode of RAID controller, please change Launch Storage OpROM Policy as “UEFI only”.
62. Please press F4 to save the setting and exit.
Entering Intel onboard SAS RAID BIOS Utility

Loading Factory Default Setting
1. In the Main Menu, select third option Reset Disks to Non-RAID.
63. Select the hard disk drive desired and press ENTER to complete your selection.
64. Then press Y to reset RAID data on selected hard disks.
Creating a RAID Volume
65. Select Create RAID Volume.
66. The CREATE VOLUME MENU displayed.
67. Type in the name of RAID volume.
68. Select RAID level.
69. Select desired HDD to create the RAID.
70. Select Create Volume.
71. Press Y when “Are you sure you want to create the volume? (Y/N):” displayed.
72. Now the RAID volume is created, you can press ESC and select Exit to exit.
Initializing a RAID Volume
During Intel onboard SAS RAID (SATA Mode) volume creation process, the Intel onboard SAS RAID (SATA Mode) volume will be automatically initiated once the onboard SAS RAID (SATA Mode) volume has been created.
Assigning a Hot Spare Drive
The Intel onboard SAS RAID BIOS utility does not provide the function to create hot spare drive. Please create the hot spare drive with the Intel onboard SAS RAID utility in operating system.
APPENDIX B: Intel onboard SATA RAID CONFIGURATION
Set RAID Controller in Legacy Mode
NOTE. Currently, Intel onboard SATA RAID supports Legacy mode. Please make sure the BIOS settings of Launch Storage OpROM policy is Legacy first.
1. Turn on the server and the display monitor. If the server is already turned on, please close all open applications and then restart the server.
2. Please enter BIOS Setup during POST.
3. Please select Advanced.
4. Please select PCIe/PCI/PnP Configuration.
5. You would see below information:
Launch Storage OpROM policy [Legacy only]
6. Please press F4 to save the setting before exit from BIOS Setup.
Enabling Intel Onboard SATA RAID
1. Turn on the server and the display monitor. If the server is already turned on, please close all open applications and then restart the server.
7. Please enter BIOS Setup during POST.
8. Please select Advanced.
9. Please select SATA Configuration.
10. You would see below information:
SATA Mode [AHCI Mode]
73. Please change SATA Mode from AHCI Mode to RAID Mode
SATA Mode [RAID Mode]
11. Please press F4 to save the setting before exit from BIOS Setup.
Entering Intel onboard SATA RAID BIOS Utility

NOTE. The default setting is Enabled.
86. To disabled Storage Controller Unit.
Storage Controller Unit [Disabled]
87. Please select PCIe/PCI/PnP Configuration.
88. You would see below information.
Launch Storage OpROM policy [Legacy only]
NOTE. The default setting is Legacy only.
89. To enable EFI mode of RAID controller, please keep Launch Storage OpROM policy as UEFI only. To enable Legacy mode of RAID controller, please change Lunch Storage OpROM policy as Legacy Only.
90. Please select Boot.
91. You would see below information.
Boot mode select [LEGACY]
NOTE. The default setting is LEGACY.
92. To enable EFI mode, please keep Boot mode select as UEFI. To enable Legacy mode, please change Boot mode select as Legacy.
93. Please save the setting and exit from BIOS Setup.
Entering RAID BIOS Utility (Legacy Mode)
Please press CTRL-H when you see the RAID BIOS during POST. After POST finished, the Adapter Selection page will show on the screen. Please click on Start to launch the configuration menu.
Entering RAID EFI Utility (EFI Mode)
1. Please enter EFI shell during POST.
94. In EFI Shell, please type in drvcfg –s.
95. You will see below options.
Press 1 for EFI WebBIOS
2 for EFI CLI
or any other key to return:
96. Please select 1 for EFI WebBIOS.
97. Please click on Start to launch the configuration menu.
Loading Factory Default Setting
1. In the left panel, select Controller Properties. The current adapter settings appear. Please click on Next to change the setting.
98. Change the setting of Set Factory Defaults from No to Yes then click on submit.
99. Press Home button
100. Please select Exit in left panel
101. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to reboot the server.
Creating a RAID Volume
1. Launch the configuration menu.
102. Select Configuration Wizard in left panel
103. Select New Configuration and click on Next.
104. Select Manual Configuration and click on Next.
105. Hold the Ctrl key and select the drives that you want to add into the array. After you selecting the drives, click on Add to Array.
106. Click on Accept DG and then click on Next.
107. Select the array you just created, click on Add to SPAN and then Next.
108. Select the RAID Level you want to use, create the logical volume by specify the size at Select Size and click on Accept to create the logical volume.
109. Click on Next after you creating the logical volume.
110. Click on Accept and Yes to save the configuration.
Initializing a RAID Volume
1. After you create the logical volumes and click on Accept to save the configuration, the new logical volume will be automatically initialized after you click on Yes to confirm the change.
111. You will see all the logical drives listed.
112. Click on Home to go back to the configuration menu.
Assigning a Hot Spare Drive
1. Select a free disk marked as UNCONF GOOD and listed under Physical Drives.
113. Select Make Global HSP or Make Dedicated HSP options and then click on Go.
114. Click on Home to go back to the configuration menu. You will see the disk marked as Hot Spare in pink and listed under Physical Drives.
115. Now you can reboot the system and install the Operating System. Select Exit, click on Yes and press Ctrl+Alt+Del to reboot the system.
