There are many assistive technology supports that can help students with dyslexia access and produce grade level content while they are receiving intervention. Below are links to you tube videos and websites with walkthroughs for turning on free assistive technology supports for students with characteristics of dyslexia. Thanks,Chandle CarpenterMicrosoft Learning Tools and Immersive ReaderMicrosoft 365 and Microsoft word Online is available to all students in LRSDStudents can go to and sign in with the following:Username: firstname.lastname###-first 3 numbers of student ID (ex. john.smith123)Password is Student IDMicrosoft Learning Tools are available in Microsoft Word online and Microsoft One Note. Immersive reader can utilize speech to text (dictation), text to speech (read aloud), increase spacing, line focus, divide words into syllables, translate into over 50 lanuages, and provide a picture dictionary for support. A video detailing how to use the immersive reader tool is available here: (Speech to Text):Use headphones with a microphone and install a google chrome extension for speech to text like speechnotes. This will allow a student to dictate what they want to write, and then copy and paste it into Word, Google Docs, or anywhere with a text box. Any student with a disability that severely inhibits or prevents reading printed materials qualifies. This is typically a learning disability, visual impairment, or physical disability. If you have a student or child with an IEP or 504 plan that needs bookshare, please contact the 504 coordinator or special education department chair so they can contact me.
