This becomes something people strive for because it shows they are given attention. This becomes addicting and soon becomes what people find as a source of importance. This is a book published for psychologist to understand the different ways social media can become seemingly addicting. Dr. Prado is a psychologist professor at Queens University and along with teaching at Ontario college. I believe this narrative is interesting because it fits in with the story of “American Born Chinese” very well because it is the idea of attention and fitting in. The way the social media can provide entertainment where you would rather communicate through a device than in person is scary. Jessica Orner is a family medicine doctor who received her degree from Temple University. She discovered and followed on research in which many kids were struggling with body image. I find this interesting because it portrays the ideal body and person you may want to be. Jin experienced this in the book wanting to become a more Americanized version of himself. ................
