Louis E. Robichaux, IV, Managing Director, Healthcare, Bridge Associates LLC, President 2009, Turnaround Management Association, D/FW Chapter;

Mr. Robichaux is a Managing Director in the Healthcare Practice of Bridge Associates LLC.  Mr. Robichaux provides restructuring, crisis management, financial advisory and expert witness services to parties in a broad variety of healthcare industry settings.  Current and former clients include providers, payors, secured creditors, unsecured creditor committees, trustees and other parties in interest in many sectors of healthcare.  Sector experience includes hospitals, HMOs/managed care organizations, outpatient rehabilitation, independent physician practice associations (IPAs), physician practice management companies (PPMs), dental / orthodontic practice management companies (DPMs), ambulatory care clinics, skilled nursing care, home healthcare / home DME and institutional pharmacies.

Currently, Mr. Robichaux heads Bridge’s healthcare practice and leads the firm’s engagement as financial advisor to the bond insurer in connection with the restructuring of a large hospital system in the Midwest. Prior to joining Bridge Associates, Mr. Robichaux was a Senior Managing Director in the Corporate Finance / Restructuring practice of FTI Health Solutions. Mr. Robichaux was a Director in PricewaterhouseCoopers' Business Recovery Services practice prior to the acquisition of the practice by FTI Consulting in August 2002. Before joining PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mr. Robichaux worked in the healthcare industry as a senior financial and operational analyst for Kaiser Permanente (a national staff-model HMO and integrated healthcare delivery system) as well as various management positions in the long-term care industry. 

Robichaux is a Board Member, D/FW Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association, and holds memberships in the CFA institute - D/FW Chapter, the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors and the American Bankruptcy Institute. Robichaux also serves the City of Highland Village as an elected member of the Texas City Council. He has an MBA in research and statistics from Texas A&M University and a BBA from Austin Peay State University. Along with practicing as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®), an Insolvency and Reorganization Advisor (CIRA), and a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP), Mr. Robichaux is a Texas Licensed Nursing Facility Administrator (inactive).

Peter Franklin, Partner, Locke Lidell & Sapp Attorneys and Counselors, President 2008, Turnaround Management Association, D/FW Chapter;

Peter Franklin has been counseling, writing, and teaching about creditor’s rights, bankruptcy, receivership and related matters for nearly 39 years.  He represents parties in complex Chapter 11 reorganizations, creditor’s committees, and bankruptcy proceedings for unsecured and secured creditors, debtors, trustees, and examiners, and has served as receiver or receiver’s counsel in complex federal receivership proceedings.  Mr. Franklin has been involved in a number of major bankruptcy reorganizations occurring throughout the United States and was appointed Receiver by the United States District Court in Dallas at the request of the SEC. Mr. Franklin holds a J.D., Southern Methodist University School of Law, 1969, and a B.A., Ohio Wesleyan University, 1966. He is admitted to the Texas Bar.

Joe Milkes, Principal, Milkes Realty Valuation, President 2007, Turnaround Management Association, D/FW Chapter;

Joe W. Milkes's professional practice is focused on commercial real estate valuation and consultation. He is the principal of Milkes Realty Valuation. The services include appraisal, litigation support, consultation and specialized real estate analytical services. His area of service includes North Texas as well as the Southwest and throughout the US. He holds the MAI and CCIM designations in valuation and investment real estate in addition to having received an MBA from Southern Methodist University.

Mr. Milkes is currently the president of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association, a corporate renewal and restructuring industry organization with a diversified membership of professionals.

Previously, he was president of his own financial consulting company, The Snyder Company, where he managed family investments that included operating companies, limited partnerships, and securities. Additionally, he has been principal in a variety of different companies and held positions in increasing responsibility for global bottling companies in the U.S. Mr. Snyder has served as an interim-officer/examiner in over 16 bankruptcies.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, in Computer Science from Texas A&M University, with postgraduate studies at Corpus Christi State University. He is a frequent speaker and presenter on a wide range of turnaround topics.

Robin E. Phelan, Partner, Haynes and Boone, LLP

Mr. Phelan's practice is exclusively devoted to insolvency, reorganization and related areas, including extensive litigation in the bankruptcy court and other federal courts. Mr. Phelan works with other Haynes and Boone attorneys to analyze the effect of bankruptcy on corporate and financial transactions.  He is a frequent speaker on panels and programs throughout the United States and internationally regarding developments in bankruptcy and insolvency law and is the author of numerous publications, several relating to tax, governmental and environmental claims.  He is a contributor to several major treatises on bankruptcy and has testified before both the Congressional Bankruptcy Review Commission and the United States Congress on insolvency matters.  Mr. Phelan has recently participated in a program sponsored by the United States Department of State and the United Nations to develop model cross border insolvency provisions and participated in a White House program to improve the United States bankruptcy system.

Mr. Phelan represents debtors and creditors in all types of bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings ranging from sole proprietors to major publicly-held companies such as Zale's, LTV, Hawaiian Airlines, Greyhound, Fruehauf, Enron, Adelphia and Mirant. He also works with clients acquiring financially troubled businesses and has acted as an operating trustee in bankruptcy cases.

Phelan has successfully reorganized an environmentally challenged manufacturer by creating liquidating trusts beneficially owned by the State of California.

In addition, he has consulted with representatives of the Ministry of Justice of Indonesia regarding amendments to the Indonesian Bankruptcy Law and structured multiple pre-negotiated Chapter 11 cases in connection with the largest insurance company reorganization in the United States.

Sanford R. Edlein, Managing Director, Huron Consulting Group

For more than 35 years, Mr. Edlein has been an owner/entrepreneur, chief executive officer, president, and senior executive, as well as a consultant for public and private companies. He has developed a consistent track record in the design and implementation of cost containment and revenue enhancement strategies, debt restructurings, and financial and operating turnaround initiatives.

Prior to joining Huron, Edlein was a Principal at Glass & Associates. He has also served on the board of directors of both public and privately owned companies.

The breadth of his experience has provided him with an incisive perspective on business, operating, financial, and structural challenges faced by management, boards of directors, and other constituencies. His thoughtful, yet direct approach to problem solving and strong negotiating skills have served many companies in achieving the best solution for all parties.

Most recently, Mr. Edlein served as Chief Restructuring Officer of a $1B publicly held electrical contractor, Chief Restructuring Advisor to a $400 M publicly held construction and fabrication company, Chief Restructuring Advisor to a publicly held oil pipeline Master Limited Partnership, and Financial Advisor to a series of companies and other constituencies in the manufacturing, distribution, and retail arena.
