The University of Northern British Columbia invites applications for the Chair of the School of Business at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The School of Business is the largest academic program in the University. It offers three degrees – A Bachelor of Commerce with majors in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, International Business, Marketing and General Business; a Masters of Business Administration and a Master of Science degree in Business Administration. The School of Business has a number of new initiatives planned for the near future. The preferred start date for this position is July 1, 2017.
The Chair of the School of Business will provide academic mentorship and leadership in developing the potential of the School. The current areas of focus in the School of Business are Finance, Marketing and Informatics. The ideal candidate will have a record of leadership, experience with assessment and accreditation, experience in working with undergraduate and graduate business programs and experience in interacting with the business community. The duration of appointment as Chair is normally three to five years and is renewable for a second term. The successful candidate will be an active scholar with teaching and research experience in one of the majors within the BCOMM degree. The Chair of the School reports to the Dean of the College.
