Course Description

Introduces concepts, terminology, and hands-on skills in the use of DOS and Windows. Emphasizes navigation, file manipulation, file creation, and troubleshooting. Credit Hours: 3 Contact Hours: 45

Standard Competencies:

1. Manage files and data in the Windows and DOS environment. 2. Organize and manage a hard disk with DOS. 3. Manage memory, startup, and networking with DOS. 4. Identify the major elements of a computer system and explain their functions. 5. Compare and contrast operating system and application system software. 6. Analyze a situation to determine the problem and find a solution. 7. Select and apply the commands of DOS to manage the hardware and software.
