Summer Opportunities

There will be several bulletins with information on summer camps and programs posted in the hallways in the coming months. You can also check college websites—nearly all of them have summer programs.

Seniors…

Planning a senior trip? You may want to avoid Saturday, June 17, 2017. That is the date of the FR Alumni Association’s annual banquet. All seniors are invited to attend, and if you are lucky enough to win an Alumni Scholarship, your attendance at the banquet is required.

Have you stayed true to your DARE promise to not use drugs or alcohol, or have made a new resolution to live drug free? If so, you are invited to the annual DARE Luncheon on April 11, 2017 at the Elk’s Club on 127 south of Celina.  Students attending will leave FRHS at 10:45 a.m. and return around 2:00 p.m. Students wishing to attend should contact Mrs. Billenstien ASAP.

DID YOU KNOW????

Colleges can rescind your admission in the summer of your senior year.

This means that simply getting accepted now doesn’t guarantee that you can attend next fall. Colleges DO look at your

final senior grades and can revoke your acceptance, so keep working hard!

Underclassmen…

Students planning to take a CC+ class at FRHS should receive their Rhodes applications very soon. Be sure to turn in your app (or reactivation form), or you won’t be eligible for the college credit!

Essay contest for 9th-10th graders: the Mercer County RTL is sponsoring an essay contest and prizes range from $50-$150. All applicants must submit an essay (500-800 words) with the title “Why I Am Pro Life” and will receive a free pro-life t-shirt. Contact Janelle Homan at hanellepoeppelman@ for more info.
