Activate the device from IT PC and iTunes in Activation-Only Mode:

o "c:\program files\itunes\itunes.exe" /setPrefInt StoreActivationMode 1

(enables activation mode)

o "c:\program files\itunes\itunes.exe" /setPrefInt StoreActivationMode 0

(disables activation mode)

Config to connect to ACCM54g network

Get the device IP address (Settings>General>Network>Connected Network>IP Address)

and scan it into Spiceworks

The device will show up in Spiceworks without anything found on it. Rename it from the

IP address (verify MAC address) to iPadxxx where xxx is an incremental number

Fill out the remaining fields for the device:

o Manufacturer (Apple)

o Model (iPad or iPad2)

o The serial number should be the wifi MAC address

o Record the device serial number as the Asset Tag

o If known, record anything else possible about the device

Label the iPad with a pTouch label

Sync to the user's laptop/PC

Setup itunes:

o Summary Tab:

 Uncheck Open iTines when this iPad is connected

 Check Sync only checked songs and...

 Uncheck prefer standard definition...

 Check Manually manage music and...

 Check Encrypt iPad backup, use Kewld00dZ as encrypted password

o Info Tab:

 Everything stays unchecked except for "Sync Bookmarks With IE" and

"Sync notes with Outlook"

o Apps Tab:

 Select Sync Apps

 Select Automatically Sync New Apps

o Music Tab:

 Select Sync Music

 Select "Entire music library"

 Check Include music vodeos and Include voice memos

o Movies Tab:Sync Movies and All

o TV Shows Tab: Unselect

o Podcasts Tab: Sync all unplayed podcasts

o Photos: not selected

Setup an iTunes Store account for the user with their own CC info

Download FileApp Pro to the iPad, runs around $5

DiskAid

To use FileApp Pro you need to get the files onto the iPad. Currently (6/21/11) this is done via

DiskAid. Cost for DiskAid runs $9.90 a license. One license covers three PCs.

Install DiskAid on the user's PC

In the left column should be Apps, select the FileApp Pro app (if you don't select this,

you won't see the data in FileApp Pro)

Click on "Copy Folder to Device"

Copy whatever data to the device that's needed

On the iPad, open FileApp Pro, if the data copied is not visible, click the refresh button.

If it still doesn't show, odds are the data was copied to the wrong place (see a few steps

ago)

Setup MobileMe

This is to enable the Find My iPad Feature...

Select MobileMe and enter the iTunes account info for the user

Show 100 Recent Messages

Show To/CC label enabled

Contacts sort Last, First

Default Account should be Exchange Account

Time Zone: Set for user's time zone

Set AutoLock on General for 5 minutes
