COLUMBUS, Ala. (AP) �� Authori??es say a woman has been fatally shot and the suspect was killed in a

stando? in a residence in east Alabama.

Lee County Coroner Bill Harris said in an email Sunday that Daniel Murphy is accused of shoo??ng his 38�\year�\

old wife Erica Murphy to death during a four�\hour stando? on Saturday night.

Local news media outlets report an inves??ga??on was

sparked a??er Erica Murphy was pronounced dead at

St. Francis Hospital, leading o?cers to the residence.

During the stando?, Daniel Murphy appeared in the

window and aimed a weapon at depu??es with a laser

sight.

Harris says 38�\year�\old Daniel Murphy refused to

drop the weapon and was shot by an o?cer. He was

pronounced dead at the scene.
