The project has faced obstacles and opposition but the estimated time of completion is 2021.When the project is completed, it will enable the port to more efficiently serve larger vessels. Savannah will not only have a deeper port to attract these ships, but it can also offer infrastructure that includes direct interstate access. The lower prices per container for ships coming through Savannah will save US companies 20-40% in transportation. The diversity of Georgia’s natural features, small towns, and large cities is one of the reasons the state appeals to filmmakers. Tyler Perry purchased the former Fort McPherson Army Base to convert it into one of the largest film studios in the country. The film industry’s impact on the economy amounted to more than $7billion in 2016. *Georgia offers a number of incentives that appeal to filmmakers such as tax incentives to those who film in Georgia. The State offers 20% credit to companies that spend $500,000 or more on the production of projects in Georgia. Easy transportation to almost anywhere via Hartsfield-Jackson International airport is also appealing to filmmakers. *Some films filmed in GA include: Pitch Perfect 3, Avengers, Infinity War, Captain America: Civil War, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, three of the Hunger Games, the Blind Side, The Walking Dead, and Black Panther. ................
