The tragic events in Charlotesville, Virginia should shock every American, every civil person. Unfortunately,

those events did not shock many of our friends and neighbors in the Muslim, African-American, Hispanic,

LGBTQ, and immigrant communi6es. And here, nearly 80 years a8er a war that was started with similar

events, they may not shock us. Though terrible, these events were only the most violent physical manifesta6on of a set of sen6ments that have long troubled many in our country. I say ¡°troubled¡±, because I believe
