Passport InstallationWindows XP + Internet Explorer 7OS VersionXPSystem Type 32-bit or 64-bitBrowser NameInternet Explorer 7Before you begin…Check you have Anti Virus software installed on your computer (eg McAfee, Norton 360, Microsoft Security Essentials).Remove McAfee Site Advisor software for Internet Explorer if you have it installed, it will stop Passport from working. Check that Windows is up to date before starting this process, it will reduce the number of prompts and errors you will get during the process.Step 1 - Check if you have 32-bit or 64-bit Windows XPClick Start, right- click My Computer then click PropertiesGo to the General tab and look at the System section:- if Windows XP Professional Version <Year> appears, it’s a 32-bit version system- if Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Version < Year> appears, it’s a 64-bit systemIn the example below it’s a 32-bit version. Make a note of this and close the window using the cross (X) in the top right corner. Step 2 - Check if you are an Administrator on the computerClick Start then on Control PanelClick on User Accounts Check for your user account name, if Computer Administrator is displayed under your account name (see screenshot below), you can move onto step 3 of the installation processIf your account name says Limited Account you will need to ask the administrator of the computer to login and change your access to an administrator (they will need to click on the user account, select Change the account type, click Computer administrator to select then click Change account type).Step 3 - Create a shortcut for Internet ExplorerNB. Do not user Internet Explorer 64-bit, it will not work with Passport.Click on Start then All ProgramsFind and right-click on Internet Explorer, then click Send To followed by Desktop (create shortcut)An Internet Explorer shortcut icon will be created on your desktop, right-click on the icon and select Rename from the menuType in a name of 32bit Internet Explorer for Passport for the icon.You must use the Internet Explorer shortcut every time you access Passport.Step 4 - Remove any existing Passport software Close any internet browser windows that you have open before startingClick Start then Control PanelDouble click on Add or Remove Programs You now need to remove all versions of Java, Juniper and Citrix - simply select the program you want to remove by clicking on it, click Remove then Yes to confirmWhen you have removed all versions of Java, Juniper and Citrix, click the cross (X) in the top right corner.NB. If you leave any internet browser windows open while removing these programs, you may see a message asking you to ‘quit other applications before continuing the installation’ (even though you are removing a program). Either close the browser and then click Retry, or click Ignore then select Close Browsers and Continue.Step 5 - Run the Citrix Cleaner to clean the registery Open Internet Explorer, copy and paste into the address bar, then hit the Enter key on your keyboardClick Run then Run againClick Yes A message will be displayed confirming the Citrix Registery has been cleaned successfully, click OK Close all programs and restart your machine.If Registery Cleaner is unable to remove the Citrix folder from Program files, you can do this from the C drive.Right-click on Start then click on ExploreOpen the Program Files folderRight-click on Citrix folder and click DeleteClick Yes to delete.Also check under the Common Files folder for a Citrix folder and if found, right-click on the Citrix folder and then click Delete.If this doesn’t work, you can download Citrix Receiver Clean-Up Utility from - click the Download button and save it on your computer by right-clicking on the file, then on Run as Administrator.Step 6 - Update Internet Explorer settingsOpen Internet Explorer, click on Tools then Internet OptionsThe Internet Options window will open, go to the General tab then in the Browsing history section click DeleteTick Temporary Internet Files then click DeleteThe Temporary Internet Files will be deleted and you will be returned to the Internet Options window, go to the Security tab, click Trusted sites to select, then click the Sites buttonIn the Add this site to the zone field copy and paste , then click Add The website address will move to the Websites box below, click CloseYou will be returned to the Internet Options window, go to the Security tab, select Internet, then click Custom levelThe Security Settings – Internet Zone window will open, scroll down the list to find:- ActiveX Controls & Plugins > Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls and Run ActiveX controls & plug-ins - set both to Enable- Downloads > Automatic prompting for file downloads (not present in some versions) or File Downloads - set to EnableWhen you have finished updating all these areas click OK then Yes to confirm changesYou will be returned to the Internet Options window, go to the Privacy tab and under Pop-up Blocker click on SettingsThe Pop-up Blocker Settings window will open, in the Address of website to allow field, copy and paste *..uk, then click AddThe *..uk address will move to the Allowed sites field, click CloseYou will be returned to the Internet Options window, go to the Advanced tab, scroll down to the Security section and remove the tick against Do not save encrypted pages to disk, then click Apply and finally OK.Step 7 - Download and install JavaOpen Internet Explorer, copy and paste into the address bar, then hit the Enter key on your keyboardClick on Free Java DownloadClick Agree and Start Free DownloadA File Download – Security Warning will be displayed, click RunJava will start downloading, a further security warning will be displayed, click Run againA Java Setup – Welcome window will open, click Install If you are asked if you want to install any additional software (such as the Ask toolbar), un-tick the boxes then click NextOnce the installation is complete a Java Setup – Complete window will open, click CloseYou will be taken to a Verify Java Version webpage, click on the Verify Java version buttonA message will be displayed asking Do you want to run this application?, click RunA message will be displayed confirming Java has been installed successfully.Step 8 - Download and install Citrix Receiver for WindowsOpen Internet Explorer, copy and paste into the address bar and hit the Enter key on your keyboard, then click Detect my device and install ReceiverA security warning will be displayed, click Run Citrix will start downloading and a progress bar will be displayed, a further security warning will be displayed, click Run A Welcome to Citrix Receiver Setup window will be displayed, click InstallWhen Citrix Receiver has completed installation you will see a Citrix Receiver icon in the bottom right corner of the taskbar.Step 9 - Log into Passport (installs Juniper software)Go to Internet Explorer, copy and paste this URL into the address bar and hit the Enter key on your keyboardType in your Hantsnet username, Hantsnet password, Passport PIN and token number and click Sign InNB. If this is the first time you have logged into Passport, see the information on Learn.IT ()An Information Bar window will open, click close, click on the area below the tabs then click Install ActiveX ControlIf the ActiveX Control fails to load and you see the screen below, click on the here in the first paragraph (ie, the here in “In order to continue the operation you need to install a setup client.
