DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS, MARKETING

AND OUTREACH (DAMO)

______________________________________________________________________________

About Ipswich School

Ipswich School is one of the foremost independent schools in East Anglia. It was established

prior to 1399 and moved to its present site in 1852. It is a co-educational school with

around 1080 pupils aged between rising 3 and 18 and operates a five-day week.

The School comprises a Senior School with over 780 pupils aged from 11 to 18 and the

Prep School with some 300 pupils aged from rising 3 to 11. The Lodge Day Nursery opened

in January 2018 and provides the very best care for children aged from 3 months to 3 years.

As the report in 2014 by ISI Inspectors confirmed, Ipswich School has a fine record of

academic success, which is placed within the context of an extensive range of activities

outside the classroom. The School operates a five-day week, with representative sports on

Saturdays. Games, CCF, Community Service and a variety of other activities take place on

Thursday afternoons.

Ipswich is the county town of Suffolk, with about 150,000 inhabitants. The town has a lively

theatre, a championship football club, a multiplex cinema and a film theatre, a strong musical

life, and clubs and societies catering for many sporting and cultural interests. In the summer

the Aldeburgh Festival enriches the musical life of the area. Road and rail links to London,

Cambridge, the Midlands and the North are excellent, with Liverpool Street being just over

an hour away. Also within easy reach are many attractive and historic small towns and

villages. The coastline is a special feature, offering large unspoilt areas of beach and estuary

for recreation.

of charge, and free lunch is provided in the dining hall during term time. We have (limited)

free parking on site. We operate a Cyclescheme for staff who wish to purchase a cycle for

travel to work.

and staff are encouraged to attend courses and conferences, and undertake relevant

qualifications which will further their expertise and career.

This is a senior, full-time, permanent support staff position in the School (subject to the

successful completion of a six month probationary period).

We anticipate the working hours will be a minimum of 37.5 hours per week throughout the

year. Flexibility, however, will be essential and your weekly working hours will be as

required to fulfil the responsibilities of this unique, senior role in the School.

For information, the core full-time support staff working hours in the School are 8.30 am 4.30 pm Mondays ¨C Fridays throughout the year. However, due to the senior nature of this
