Salary A2 (£22,478 to £25,812)

2 Specific duties

• Work as part of a payroll team to ensure that payrolls are processed accurately and paid on time

• Ensure all payroll information is sent securely, complying with GDPR regulations at all times

• Assist the department in the accurate and timely processing of the tax year end

• Ensure that paylists, Salesforce database and all working spreadsheets are kept up to date with the Payrite system

• Answer queries and solving problems relating to payroll including frequent correspondence with the Inland Revenue

• Provide our payroll clients with additional specific reports when requested including pension reports

• Ensure all daily tasks are completed including answering payroll email and telephone enquiries, filing, photocopying, faxing, processing mail, etc.

3 Person specification

• Recent payroll processing experience including working knowledge of the following:

o Real time information (RTI)

o P.A.Y.E. and national insurance regulations in relation to processing payrolls

o SSP, SMP, SPP and SAP legislation

o Year End Routines

o Pension auto enrolment

• Excellent customer service skills

• Experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

• Ability to work on own initiative

• Ability to work to strict deadlines

• Ability to work accurately showing a high level of numeracy

• Ability to cope under pressure

• Ability to work under strict confidentiality

• Good keyboard skills

4 Other duties and responsibilities will include

• To take part in training relating to new payroll legislation

• Any other general duties as may be required by the line manager

6 Major terms and conditions

A full package of terms and conditions is available. Key features include:

Salary: A2

Annual leave: 28 days plus 6 public holidays (pro rata)

Pension: Employee contributions are 6% or 3%, SCVO contributes 9% or 4.5%. A salary exchange option is available.

Probationary period: 6 months

Hours: Flexible working, sessional and/or part-time hours will be considered
