All employees are required to comply with relevant safety procedures/guidelines and equal opportunity principles at all times.Role StatementThis position is responsible for managing the coordination of defined strategic activities across the State. Provides high level advice to regional offices and identifies emerging issues and risk, and makes recommendations for action or improvement. Liaises, negotiates and consults with cross agency Managers to meet the strategic intent of Social Housing Reforms, including liaison with Regions, Agencies, other Business Units and Executive.Duties and ResponsibilitiesCOMMUNICATIONManages Service Delivery’s internal and external communication.Manages communication channels to regions on processes, procedure and system functionality.Designs and manages communications initiatives and strategies.Liaises with regions and stakeholders to understand their communication requirements and needs. MANAGEMENTProvides high level guidance and manages the coordination of Service Delivery activities across the State ensuring consistency in the application of strategic and operational policy and procedures. Oversees and directs regional performance standards and targets required to meet strategic outcomes.Liaise with business units and stakeholders to maintain relationships and discuss/resolve issues.Manages and directs staff under control.STRATEGYShapes and manages strategy and policy to improve processes and practices.Identifies emerging issues and risks, and makes recommendations for action/improvements.RELATIONSHIPSBuilds and sustains partnerships and positive working relationships with other public sector agencies, non-government community organisations and local government authorities to ensure a coordinated and collaborative approach to service delivery.Represents the agency at various forums as required, including interagency working groups.OTHERPerforms other duties as directed.Promotes a high standard of Equal Opportunity and Diversity, personal conduct, and Occupational Safety and Health in the workplace.Essential Work-Related Requirements (Selection Criteria)Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing communication strategies.Demonstrated leadership, management and organisational skills.Sound experience in assessing business performance, and conceptualising and developing new/improved initiatives.Sound interpersonal skills, including consultation and negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Desirable Work-Related Requirements (Selection Criteria)Experience in communications or marketing field.Essential Eligibility Requirements / Special Appointment Requirements 1.Appointment is subject to a satisfactory National Police Clearance.2.Possession of a current Western Australian 'C' or 'C-A' Class Driver’s Licence or equivalent, and the ability to travel in response to organisational needs. This requirement continues for the duration of employment in this position and from time to time production of the licence may be required upon request by the Department. 3.Able to travel by air to remote regional locations and to stay overnight or for short periods. ................
