Today, Johnson County District Court Judge Thomas Sutherland sentenced Adrian Espinosa-Flores to the maximum sentence of 150 months in custody of the Kansas Secretary of Corrections. On October 13, 2017, Espinosa-Flores plead guilty to 2nd degree murder and three counts of aggravated battery while DUI.

Assistant District Attorneys Chris McMullin and Ann Henderson prosecuted this case.

Adrian Espinosa-Flores, 38 years of age, of Kansas City, Kansas, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter while DUI and leaving the scene of a fatality accident in Johnson County District Court case number 16CR2308.

Espinosa-Flores is charged with causing a motor vehicle collision on US 69 Highway just north of 151st Street on September 11, 2016, which resulted in the death of Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Master Deputy Brandon Collins.

Espinosa-Flores will have his first court appearance on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 1:30 in Division M4.

The Overland Park Police Department and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Criminalistics Laboratory are the investigating agencies.
