Emily GrecoAbout The AuthorI am currently a senior a York College of Pennsylvania. I am majoring in English Literary Studies and minoring in Special Education. One day, I hope to become an English teacher in New York City. Ever since I was a little girl I always had a love and passion for reading and writing. I enjoy reading and writing in the genre of young adult literature. In school I have written several long length academic papers. I have also taking a writing fiction class that I have really relished and appreciated. As I grow older, I plan on continuing my personal writings.As for writing humor, I never really thought of the concept until I enrolled into Writing 312. Now every time I read books and watch television I look for humor devices that the writers use. Personally, I really enjoy the use of exaggeration in writing. I feel that many people exaggerate their opinions, actions, and thoughts, so it is interesting to view these exaggerations as a humor device in writing. I also had a great experience learning about self-deprecating and physical humor. I always think it is funny when someone makes jokes about themselves because I believe everyone should learn to laugh at him or herself once in a while. Someone that I am currently fascinated with and that I believe is a great comedian if Amy Schumer. Just from viewing short clips of Amy Schumer’s acting, one can easily see that she uses bawdy humor, sarcasm, irony, and exaggeration in majority of her recordings. Overall, my opinions about writing humor is that it is very interesting, intriguing, and enjoyable. ................
