Getting Started

Gathering Supplies: As you will be using this alphabet binder heavily over the coming months I suggest you purchase a durable binder and confirm that it can hold up to 650-700 pages. If you like you can purchase at 26 page separators or binder tabs with labels or a custom pack of alphabet tabs. Keeping each letter spaced in your binder helps as you progress through the curriculum. You will also need a Bible to read each weekly story and verse.

Assembly: Because our Bible ABC Curriculum prints in a Letter of the Week format you simply need to divide each letter into its corresponding section in your binder. With this you will be set with 4-5 worksheets and/or activities each day over 4 days a week for the next 26 weeks. Below you can read the suggested order of the worksheets and games and if necessary rearrange them to suit your schedule.

Game Prep: For each letter there are four resources that need cutting (Flashcards, Bingo, Quilt and Crown). If your child is not yet ready to practice scissor skills, you can cut these out beforehand as part of your initial binder preparation. Store items in a binder pocket or pencil pocket for easy access. Many games can be used as review or built upon as children learn subsequent letters, so you might keep a folder in the back of your binder.

General Overview:

The general purpose of this curriculum is to present children with small bits of Biblical truth so bit-by-bit they can build a strong foundation and identity in Christ. Each week you will introduce children to a new letter and a corresponding Biblical character or theme. Scripture references and talking points are provided, as well as vocabulary and attributes of the character of God. Scripture memorization includes a thematic and key Bible verse each week. The above outline can be used as reference and planning guide for the duration of the curriculum. Below, you will find a suggested calendar for each four day week, as well as detailed information about each activity page. If you find you are in need of more, you can add more weight to this curriculum by adding in our review pack, craft projects, games or holiday activities, however these are completely optional.

***BINGO***

Monday:

Character of God: The weekly theme, memory verse and vocabulary are all tied in with an important character quality of God. Discuss and pray with children, thanking God for this quality. You might hang the character quality on the wall for review.

How to Write Chart: Use the chart to introduce children to the proper formation of both the uppercase and lowercase version of the letter. Key words are written below to gently guide your child with their finger to practice.

Beginning Letter Bible Coloring: This is a simple coloring page featuring the upper and lowercase letter a beginning letter picture and word to color. While children are coloring you can read a corresponding Bible story or discuss the weekly theme.

Bible Handwriting Practice Page: This page reminds children of the proper letter formation and strokes. Beginning letter words are shown to provide ample practice opportunity.

Tuesday:

Beginning Letter Chart: Shows children 10 different beginning letter words. Hang in the classroom, practice letter sounds, play tic-tac-toe, print two for a matching game....etc.

Bible Memory Verse: This is a simple verse for children to work on memorizing for the week. Each day you'll want to review the verse with your child.

Bible Verse Copywork: This is a coloring page and beginning handwriting tracing page for the weekly verse.

Race to the Top: This is a fun game played with a paperclip spinner. Children spin the paperclip and then trace the correct winner (uppercase or lowercase). The first letter to the crown wins! Follow up questions guide children through less and more and inequalities.

Bible Maze: A simple follow up worksheet with mazes and small motor control art activities.

Wednesday:

Blank Letter Pages: These are very versatile and can be filled in with play dough, stamps, designs, stickers, things that start with that letter....etc. You might print multiple copies of these if you have crafty kiddos.

I Can Find the Letter: This is a worksheet for children to find and count the upper and lowercase letters.

Letter Trace: Children trace the uppercase and lowercase letters by using the guides provided. Opportunity is provided to make their own letters and color in a beginning letter picture for each row they complete.

ABC Quilt Square: Children color and cut out uppercase and lowercase letters, pasting them onto their a quilt square. The quilt square is cut out and placed on the wall to build upon throughout the curriculum.

Alphabet Memory Flashcards: Flashcards can be used in a variety of ways. You can bind them together with an s-clip, use them with a table top pocket chart, or even play a game of concentration. A sorting page is included to make games of two or more sets. As you work through your curriculum the flashcards can be used for ABC order, letter sound differential and various card games like go fish!

Thursday:

Daily Math Worksheet: This is a simple worksheet but includes a variety of math skills over the course of the curriculum. Counting, Measuring, Addition, Tally Marks, Patterns, Ordinal Numbers, Positional Words, Number Line and more. The goal is to provide simple daily tasks children can build upon.

Count & Graph Worksheets: Children count up the letter items and then graph them accordingly. The first half of the alphabet features up to 5 total items, and the second half reaches 10 total items.

Write & Read Worksheets: This is a simple tracing page for children to fill in the missing beginning letter on their own without tracing. The font of the entire word is light so children can then trace the entire word if they desire.

Bible Crowns: At the end of each week, children design and decorate their own Bible crown.

4 in a Row Bingo: Finish out your Letter of the Week by playing a fun game of BINGO!
