Subject: SOUTHWEST MONSOON-2013: DAILY FLOOD SITUATION REPORT

SUMMARY OF IMPORTANT EVENTS AS ON 03.06.2013

|RAINFALL/FLOOD SITUATION IN THE COUNTRY |

|Heavy rainfall would occur at one or two places over Kerala, coastal Karnataka, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands during next |

|48 hours. |

| |

|Rainfall occurred at many places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and at a few places over Kerala and Tamil Nadu and at one or two places |

|over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, east Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Assam & Meghalaya. |

|The chief amounts of rainfall (2 cms or more) recorded at 1730 hrs IST of 2nd June were: Maya Bandar and Chennai-9, Kochi-3, Ujjain, |

|Sangli, Hutbay, Kurnool, Alleppy, Punalur, Thiruvanathapuram and Valparai-2 each. |

|DEPLOYMENT OF NATIONAL DISASTER RESPONSE FORCE (NDRF) |

|01 team consisting of 20 personnel of NDRF have been deployed in Assam for training and emergency response. |

INDIAN METEOROLOGICAL DEPARTMENT (daily weather report)

➢ Rainfall occurred at many places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and at a few places over Kerala and Tamil Nadu and at one or twoplaces over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, east Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Assam & Meghalaya. The chief amounts of rainfall (2 cam or more) recorded at 1730 hrs IST of 2nd June were: Maya Bandar and Chennai-9, Kochi-3, Ujjain, Sangli, Hutbay, Kurnool, Alleppy, Punalur, Thiruvanathapuram and Valparai-2 each.

➢ Heavy rainfall would occur at one or two places over Kerala, coastal Karnataka, Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands during next 48 hours.

➢ Thunderstorm/thundersquall would occur at one or two places over Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh during next 48 hours.

➢ Heat wave conditions would occur over some parts of Rajasthan during next 24 hours.

Weather outlook for next four days

➢ Rain/thundershowers would occur at many places over northeastern states, Sub Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

➢ Rain/thundershowers would occur at many places along west coast and at a few places over south peninsular India.

➢ Rain/thundershowers would occur at a few places over interior south peninsular India and at one or two places over east and Central India.

➢ Weather would be mainly dry over rest parts of the country.
