SERVING OUR COMMUNITY

We are an active Catholic Men's Fraternal Organization within the

New Albany, IN community.

We host Council and Community events including the Harvest

Homecoming Oyster Booth, Monthly Fish Fry's, Spaghetti Dinners and

Steak Dinners to raise money for Right-to-Life, Children's Christmas Party, St. Elizabeth's Home, The Food Pantry and Clothes for the needy

and The Crusade for Children.

We distribute Thanksgiving Food Baskets to needy families in the New Albany Floyd

County area and serve Christmas breakfast to the homeless.

We volunteer our time and talents to a number of worthwhile events both at

local Parishes and in the Community.

We help support The Gibault School for Boys and Girls in Terre Haute, IN.

We support our Priests and Seminarians.

MEMBERSHIP COSTS

Yearly Council dues are currently $40.

There is an insurance program available should you decide to purchase this protection for yourself and/or your family. This is a totally optional program and it is not required for membership.

MEETINGS:

WHEN, WHERE & WHAT General Council meetings are Second Thursday of every month at 7:30P.M. Meetings are held at the Council at 809 E. Main Street in downtown New Albany. Meetings open with Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance. Business is discussed pertaining to the Council, Churches and community. Members are encouraged to attend and participate at the meetings, volunteer for events, and bring forth ideas and suggestions.

Fellowship amongst the Knights before and after the meeting in the council bar area.

EXPECTATIONS

1. Attend regular Council meetings when possible.

2. Consider volunteering for one of our many activities.

3. Timely payment of dues. 4. Defense of Church and Life.

YOUR MEMBERSHIP

Induction into the Knights of Columbus requires undergoing an admissions process starting with you completing Form 100.

Membership applications are checked by a membership committee.

An accepted candidate must pay a one time $15 initiation fee and undergo the First Degree ceremony. Upon degree completion, the candidate becomes a First Degree Knight.

First Degree Knights are encouraged to undergo their Second and Third Degree ceremonies which will make them full Knights within the order and allow them to hold elected positions.

The highest degree - Fourth Degree can also be achieved via a Fourth Degree Ceremony.

Second, Third and Fourth Degree Knighthood is purely optional and is not a requirement for membership within the Knights of Columbus.

Your membership card grants you access to Councils worldwide.
