Specimens received at the Central Lab by 7:00 pm M-F and 5:00 pm on Sat. will be sent for overnight transport to LabCorp. Specimen. Nasopharyngeal (NP) swabs are preferred. Bronchial washings or bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) also accepted. All specimens must be obtained by physician. Specimens will not be collected at patient service centers. ................
