Sensory materials include: salt, sugar, shaving foam, paint, sand, glitter. (Hopefully you have at least one of these at home to use)Choose one of the following challenges to complete. Use either salt, shaving foam, sugar, sand or paint:Write all of your letters using cursive handwriting.Write your name and the name of your best friend using cursive handwriting. Write a sentence of your choice using cursive handwriting. Traditional Stories: Select a traditional story of your choice:Choose one of the following challenges to complete. Can you take a picture of a pretty butterfly or caterpillar; is he wrapped in his cocoon. Can you post your pretty pictures for others to see? Can you create your own butterfly at home? Look in the mirror and try to recreate the emotion on your face. We would love to see your creations. Homemade marble runsThis is a favourite in the primary 1 classroom. Now you can recreate your own. For this activity you’ll need some tape and a collection of things like cardboard tubes, plastic bottles and egg cartons. Use these materials to assemble a marble run together, exploring principles such as the effect of gradient on speed.
