The syllabus was discussed extensively in class. I would appreciate it if you would read the course syllabus and safety guidelines, discuss your expectations with your child. Please keep this letter on file for future use and reference. Due to the content of crime scene investigations, there may be topics dealing with violence and death. As a result of the nature of these topics, please keep an open communication with the teacher and with your child, especially if your child has prior trauma experience. Many parents ask how they can help their student succeed in school. The following is a recommended list of things you can do to help.Ensuring student attendance to classes on timeAsking to see homework and discussing classwork for the dayProviding a quiet place and time to studyMaintaining contact with the teacherEnsuring that the student eat and sleep properlyLimiting television, telephone, and video game timeProviding necessary materialsEncouraging and asking questionsEducating the appropriate use of technological devices (i.e. phones, internet, mp3)Please do NOT phone/text your student during class time.
