Gallery Reinstallation Introductory Videos ? Request for Proposals

Project Summary: The Spencer Museum of Art is currently undertaking a significant gallery renovation and subsequent reinstallation of the museum's collection galleries. The four new exhibitions embody our method of inquiry through art and are organized around the overlapping themes of intersections, empowerment, displacement, and illumination. These themes respond to the interests and goals of key audiences, including university and K-12 students and educators. Written texts, videos, and audio components will incorporate voices and perspectives from staff, community members, and artists, and provide insights into the history, creation, and collection of art. To orient audiences to the themes, curatorial vision, and artworks in each of the four new galleries, the museum aims to create introductory videos for each gallery. The selected individual(s) or agency will work in collaboration with the museum to conceptualize, film, and edit the videos. Portions of the project may be able to be completed remotely, but in-person filming will be required at the Spencer Museum of Art in Lawrence, Kansas. Please note in your response if you are interested in completing a portion of the project remotely.
