Lesson 5: Congruent Triangles

Week of May 4, 2020

Note: This lesson plan goes with Geometry_Lesson5_Ch4Reteaching.pdf

Objectives:

? 4-1: To recognize congruent figures and their corresponding parts. ? 4-2: To prove two triangles are congruent using the SSS and SAS

postulates. ? 4-3: To prove two triangles are congruent using the ASA Postulate

and the AAS Theorem. ? 4-4: To use triangle congruence (SSS, SAS, ASA, and AAS) and CPCTC

to prove that the parts of two triangles are congruent. ? 4-5: To use and apply properties of isosceles triangles. ? 4-6: To prove triangles are congruent by the HL Theorem. ? 4-7: To prove triangles are congruent by first proving two other

triangles are congruent.
