SAMPLE LETTER TO PARENTS

Hello Parents!

The PTA will celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week with “Fill the Basket” days the week of May 2nd thru May 6th. Your support is needed to make it a success and to show Mrs. Brandon how much we appreciate her.

Here’s how it works… A basket / container will be placed on Mrs. Brandon’s desk most days. It’s up to us parents and our children to fill it with the item of the day, based on the list below.

Monday – Appreciation Luncheon – The PTA will host a Luncheon for all school staff. Offer to cover the teacher's lunch and/or recess duty, especially on this day.

Tuesday – Flower Power – Send a single flower. Handmade paper flowers are nice too! (Note: Room parents need to provide a vase this day.)

Wednesday – Teacher Supply Day – Send in supplies you know the teacher needs (i.e. dry erase markers, pens, highlighters, pencils, cute note pads or post-it notes)

Thursday – Fruit Basket Snack Attack – Bring a snack or one piece of whole fruit to help make a fruit and snack basket. (Note: Room parents need to provide a basket.)

Friday – Say Thanks – Give a nice letter or card. Maybe even one that’s handmade!

*Also, remember all of the other teachers at BHC who help your child throughout the year. (Resource, Library, Food Service, Specials, office, etc.)

If you wish to do even more for our wonderful teacher, here are some ideas of things that will make her feel special.

o Extend her lunchtime by offering to watch the class during recess.

o Offer to volunteer in the classroom.

o Donate books to the library in her name.

o Check the internet for other ideas ( has some great craft and e-card ideas.)

With your continued help, we can show Mrs. Brandon how much we appreciate her work with our children. Thank you for your support.

Give me a call at 512-797-4512 or email an83aggie@ if you need anything.

Thank YOU!

LuAnn
