For Life, Marriage and Religious Freedom

September 25, 2010

Dear Christian Friends,

America is in a severe spiritual crisis. Politics – of either party – cannot save us. We need God. And we need Him now. Positively, we believe it is not too late. At least, not yet. We are asking you to join in a 40-day united prayer and fasting season for our nation. It is easier to fast when you know many others are doing it too. Will you:

• Join with many in this 40-day prayer and fast period which began September 20 and goes to October 30?

EVEN THOUGH THE 40-DAY FAST HAS BEGUN, JOIN IN NOW. IT IS NOT TOO LATE.

• Go to and sign up to be part of the massive prayer army and to receive daily email encouragements? In addition, a daily prayer guide is provided at the site.

• Watch two webcasts listed below on that explain the fast?

• Forward this letter to as many persons as possible, asking them to go to to join?

We, the signers below, are asking you to Pray and Act:

1. PRAY

We must get down on our knees in humility and pray to God for America from 2 Chronicles 7:14 on a regular basis.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

The national 40-day fast is built on both Joel 2 (righteousness) and Isaiah 58 (authentic biblical compassion).

The fast began at 7:14 am (based on 2 Chronicles 7:14) Eastern time, on Monday, September 20 and will end at 7:14 am, Saturday, October 30, 2010. Although many will follow only a liquid diet, persons can fast as God directs them during this 40-day span. (If needed, consult a physician before fasting.) We admit we do not like fasting. We prefer eating. We admit that fasting is difficult. However, losing a nation is worse.

2. ACT

In addition to praying and fasting, we are asking you go to , click on “A.C.T.” and then join with approximately 475,000 persons who have signed the Manhattan Declaration which affirms (1) the sanctity of human life in all stages and conditions, (2) the sacredness of marriage as the covenantal union of husband and wife, and (3) the right to religious liberty and respect for conscience.

Encourage others to sign the Manhattan Declaration, and then ask persons seeking elective office to sign it as well. Together we can see one million persons affirming life, traditional, natural marriage and religious liberty.

PLEASE GO ONLINE AND WATCH TWO IMPORTANT WEBCASTS:

1. Sunday, September 12 – The Greater New Hope Baptist Church, a few blocks from the US Capital in Washington, DC, graciously allowed their church to become a TV studio. You can watch 15 strong communicators at then click Events, and then on Sept 12 webcast (or type in this url: .)

2. Sunday, September 19 – Featuring many speakers – Taped at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, DC. You can watch it at , then click on Events, and then click on Sept 19 webcast (or by typing in this link: .)

WATCH FOR ONE REMAINING WEBCAST AT THE CLOSE OF THE FAST:

3. Saturday, October 30 – WASHINGTON, DC – from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial –Webcast viewed at at 6 pm Eastern, 5 pm Central, 4 pm Mountain, 3 pm Pacific.

Will you (1) personally commit to the 40-day period of prayer and fasting (however God directs you), (2) go to and sign up to pray, (3) sign the Manhattan Declaration, (4) ask others to do the same, (5) ask those running for elected positions to commit to its principles and (6) forward this letter to those on your contact list?
