Within this packet you will find information on the details for the event. Before your club comes to campus, you’ll need to make a number of arrangements to ensure that your students will have a successful and positive time during the event. Activities

Presenters often request that other adults be present to provide supervision and support. SMILE teachers and chaperones will assist the activity leaders in working with the groups.

The SMILE awards will conclude around 3:30 p.m. and you should be able to get on the road at that time.

Preparing for the Middle School Challenge in your club:

The Challenge will focus around the Edison Robots your club was provided with at the Winter Teacher Workshop. Please make sure your students are familiar with using and programming the robots. There is a lot of great information, including a number of tutorials on our website –

Your students will be working in mixed teams of 6-8 students from other SMILE middle school clubs. Make sure your students are comfortable meeting and working with new students.

Preparing Elementary students in your club:

Elementary students will participate in fun and engaging science activities and go on a campus tour.
