Developm ent of specific, m easurable, attainable, relevant and tim e-sensitive (SM ART) goals is im portant to the success of any safety and health program . Unfortunately, m any people m ake the m istake of focusing solely on the desired outcom es in the developm ent of their goals. They fail to develop activity-based goals that w ill help them to get to those outcom es. To increase the chances of success, develop both activity-based and outcom ebased goals.
