Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) Programs The OTD is a higher level degree to prepare for advanced roles in practice leadership,

advocacy for special populations, and occupational therapy faculty positions.

The Entry-Level OTD is pursued instead of the MOT by students who want to go directly to the more advanced degree. MOT and OTD graduates prepare for the same OT license to practice.

As of the date of this document, the HPO is aware of one entry-level OTD program in Texas.

Texas Entry-Level Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) (Private) University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, Occupational Therapy Program (Austin) This program is in development and has Candidacy Status for accreditation with ACOTE. Contact the school for more information.

Post-professional OTD programs are not listed here because they are for already licensed practicing Occupational Therapists who wish to add the more advanced degree to their credentials.
