How can you check?Activity:Number hunt 1) Write numbers 1-5 on separate pieces of paper or directly onto a surface using chalk around the outside area of your home. Clap a number of times. Your child must recognize how many claps and run, skip, frog hop or jump to the corresponding number. If your child finds this easy increase the numbers to 10. 2) Show me the same amount using sticks, twigs or stones. Can you show me fewer than? more than the number? 3) Why not put the numbers in order from the smallest to the biggest?ORActivity:Reception - ActivelearnSign into website using the login details given to you either via classojo or sent home before we broke up.Nursery – Topmarks Play this game according to your child’s ic/Creative activities are optionalMake a Necklace/medalYou could use pasta pieces/ cut up plastic or paper straws/ use beads to thread onto string, ribbon or shoe- laces. (Don’t go out of your way to get the resources – use things you already have in the house, stay safe!) Thread up to 10 objects (Reduce number to the amount your child can count to e.g. 4, 6) Encourage your child to place them in a straight line and to steadily count them pointing to each piece one at a time. Once they have done this, why not decorate their pasta/straws/beads - with paint or even a bit of glitter! If you do not have this don’t worry! To make a necklace/medal they could use a peg to join the two ends together. Once they have threaded them and made a necklace/medal take a photo to show their teachers!Matching Pair of Socks Are you doing lots of washing at the moment? Do you have lots of socks to match up? If so, ask your child to help you pair them all up. They will not only be matching them by colour and pattern, but you could look at their size as well – long or short. You could also ask them to hang them on the washing line?Using pegs will help with their fine motor skills and develop the muscles in their hands –ready for writing.Key questions: What colours can you see? What patterns? What shapes? Are they the same? How many are there? Is there two/a pair? How do you know? Which is the odd one out? Can you find long socks? Short socks? How do you know they are shorter? longer? Don’t forget to take a photo to show your teachers! OREncourage them to roll it/squeeze it/make a ball Have a pretend tea party with you or their favourite teddiies. ................
