After each rotation, interns have the option to explore new departments.Each department has specific learning objectives that the intern must meet in the course of their time in the department.Level III Medical Interpreting:The Level III Medical Interpreting program is available for individuals fluent in Spanish to act as a liaison for communicating between patients and their healthcare providers.If you are interested in becoming a Level III Medical Interpreter, please indicate your fluency on your internship application and watch for our recruitment emails during your first rotation as a Pathmaker Intern.Conditional Acceptance NotificationsNotifications will be emailed out by Saturday, September 7th, 2019. All applicants will be notified, whether they are conditionally accepted or asked to re-apply. History of disease does not meet this requirementOr positive quantitative Varicella IgG antibody titerMandatory Orientation And Skills DatesPlease keep the following 2019 D Orientation and Skills Days open:Orientation Day: Saturday, 10/12 (For applicants under the age of 18, your parent must be present)Skills Days: Saturday, 10/26 and Sunday, 10/27*Dates and times are subject to changeIf accepted, you are required to attend Department Specific Orientations & Training in the month of November, prior to the start of your first rotation, which is on December 1st, 2019.CPR Certification—BLS ProviderInterns are required to be CPR certified at a healthcare provider’s level through a program endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA). To comply with Palomar Health policy, the certification must be BLS Provider, and must be from the American Heart Association; any other third party CPR certifications cannot be accepted. Palomar Health also offers BLS Provider courses for accepted Intern Candidates at a discounted rate (see more info below). However, if you choose to take the course elsewhere, it is recommended that you sign up for your CPR course as soon as possible, as it can take several weeks to receive your official certification card after completing the course. NOTE: Sign up for a class that gives certification for BLS PROVIDER. Please DO NOT sign up for Heartsaver, as this is not a sufficient certification level. Your Certification card MUST say BLS Provider on it, and will look similar to this: BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification Through Palomar HealthPalomar Health is offering exclusive discounted BLS Provider certification courses (backed by the American Heart Association) for conditionally accepted Pathmaker Intern Candidates who need to complete their CPR certification requirement.The classes will be at a discounted rate of $45The classes are capped at 24 participants, and they almost always fill earlyCourse dates and registration instructions will be sent to all conditionally accepted Pathmaker Intern Candidates ................
