2020-2021 LHCC Mini-Grant Application

2020-2021 LHCC Mini-Grant InformationThe Louisiana Healthy Communities Coalition (LHCC) fights death and disease, by going after the two biggest causes of chronic disease: tobacco and obesity. One way to help communities fight those factors is through a little “seed” money, as small investments can lead to big changes. That’s why we are excited to announce in this round of Mini-Grants that it will be awarding grantees $1,000 to $3,000 for obesity-related projects increasing access to healthy foods, including fruits and vegetables, for communities experiencing poor health. LHCC seeks to fund innovative ideas doing the above through policy, system, and environmental (PSE) change approaches. What do we mean by PSE? Check out Oberlin Farmers Market’s project where they implemented an organizational policy to allow SNAP/ food stamps to be used to purchase healthy food. For a more in-depth explanation on PSE and examples of fundable projects, please visit our LHCC website at As part of building a healthy community, 2020-2021 Mini-Grantees will be connected to resources to help them implement a tobacco-free policy at their proposed project site if the site is not currently tobacco-free.Applications are open Nov. 9, 2020 through Dec. 9, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time.
