SELECTMAN MEETING
NOVEMBER 17, 2015
Attendance: Paul Burgess, Selectman Chair; Eric Gagnon, Selectman Secretary; Jessica Siderio, Selectman; Bill Austin, Road Commissioner; Tony Siderio, Fire Chief; Scott Dimmick, Deputy Fire Chief; Sharon Siegel, Treasurer.
Called to order at 6:24 pm.
• Motion to accept the minutes from 11/3/15. Moved Jessica, Second Paul. Approved 3-0-0.
• Received copy of the CEO Journal for October 2015.
Roads:
• Bill reported that he has done some work on the addressing issues. South Monmouth end of 126 has 3 houses that will need # changes. Discussed sending out a mailing to let residents know that we are looking at issues and they need to mark their homes or driveways per the new Addressing Ordinance. Postcard or tri-fold. Tri-fold will have room for more information.
• Bill had to replace his Distance Measuring Instrument since it broke.
• The price to fix the salt shed ovehead door came to $1,455.00.
• Lowes donated the pressure treated lumber for the ice rink. We decide we should have a small sign made noting “Materials donated by LOWES”.
Fire Department:
• Friday Wales and Litchfield Fire Departments will escort the Oak Hill Football team to the turnpike for their trip to Orono for the State Championship Game. 2 to 2:15. Return trip is up in the air as it will be around midnight.
• November 29 the Fire Department will do a controlled burn on the Witherell Road. 5 Towns Fire Departments will be present for training.
• They will also be conducting demolition training on the Woods Road (no burn as structures are too close).
• Bought 2 new suitcase generators. 2 Generacs for the price of one Honda. They will place the old generators out for sale 1st come 1st serve. Wacker 150.00, Homelite 100.00, Champion 150.00.
• Tony reported that a Lisbon fan was hitting Engine 31 at the football game. He addressed the person and they stopped.
First Responder:
• Tony has tried to get together with Eric Michaud to get SOP's and discuss what he started that Tony needs to continue or complete. He is also hoping to get the Rescue laptop from Eric. Hopefully the information Tony needs is on it. Tony expressed that he wants to get a jump on it and get the First Responder program jumpstarted again as it has not been very active. Hopefully he can get new members and get old ones more involved.
General:
• Received the Spring Bond schedule from Maine Municipal Bond Bank.
• Received Annual report from Tri-County Mental Health Services ending June 30, 2015.
• Fieldings pressure tested our propane tanks and they passed. Fieldings is supplying our propane.
• Memo from Arthur Dunlop (CEO) regarding William Brownell's home on the corner of Centre and Avenue Road. Had a fire 25 years ago and no attempt to repair or protect the structure has been made. We need to get Jamie (Town Attorney) involved in this matter. We need to know how to proceed. Sharon will have Art forward the Violation Notices to Jamie.
• Reviewed Budget, Bills and Warrant for 11/17/15. Motion to approve the Warrant for 11/17/15. Moved Eric, Second Paul. Approved 3-0-0.
With no objections, Chair adjourned the meeting at 7:38pm.
