WAYNE COUNTY CHAPTER NEWS January 2021 ?Hello, Pro-life HeroesFirst off, I reiterate our thanks to those Church Representatives, pastors, churches, and others for making adjustments and putting in such great effort to sell LIFESPAN Christmas Cards this year. With the great uncertainty surrounding the pandemic and the ability to sell cards, we mostly dipped into our substantial inventory from past years with limited new cards. Looking to Christmas 2021, we will have a stock made up primarily of new cards. Current feedback is that the styles of cards with large images of the Holy Family and Mary with baby Jesus are the most popular. Next year’s cards may not be the exact styles for sale this year, but we would like to hear your opinion. Please e-mail our office at wcdr@rtl- or call 734-422-623 to express your preference for 2021. Secondly, we want to reiterate the message from last month that we appreciate all your help as Church Representatives and greatly appreciate all those who volunteer in the office. I want to especially single out Cori Zgliczynski, one of our best Church Reps and volunteers, for a big Thank You! I would like to invite each and every one of you to the Rose Ceremony Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Plymouth. The Rose Mass and Ceremony takes place on January 27, 2021 at 6pm. It commemorates all victims of the 48 years of legal abortion in the United States since Roe v. Wade. A major initiative of the Wayne County Chapter in 2021 is to expand the concept of the Rose Ceremony. Ideally, we can hold several Rose Ceremonies spread throughout each calendar year at churches across our chapter area from the current Plymouth location east to Detroit and from Downriver north to Farmington. It is a priority for this to become an ecumenical Christian effort and the intent is to hold Rose Ceremonies at Protestant as well as Catholic churches. We will mail an invitation to attend the Rose Ceremony at Our Lady of Good Counsel to pastors of all churches who are currently involved in RTL- LIFESPAN activities. You can help us raise awareness of the pro-life message by prominently posting the Rose Ceremony flier in these notes along with personally inviting your pastors, ministers, pro-life groups, and church staff members to attend on January 27 and witness this beautiful service. Finally, with the LIFESPAN youth bus trip to the March for Life cancelled due to Covid-19, we are in the planning stage for a “Motor City March” which will take place from the comfort and safety of supporters’ own vehicles. We will drive up a major local thoroughfare displaying pro-life signs on the morning of Saturday, January 30. Events such as the Rose Ceremony, Luminaries for Life, and this “march” are great ways for us to give witness to life in our culture. As the Christmas classic It’s a Wonderful Life poignantly reminds, no matter how small our efforts may seem at times, they matter a great deal! Take courage and stand proudly for life in 2021.MAY YOU HAVE A BLESSED CHRISTMAS SEASON AND A GREAT START TO 2021!!!Yours in LIFE,?Timothy PruseWayne County Chapter Director ................
