Alliance Exemplifies the Best of Miami in December

MIAMI, FL – (September, 2011) - Art Miami (art-), Miami’s longest running contemporary art fair, and anchor fair to the City of Miami, announces a continued partnership with Mandarin Oriental, Miami, the luxury city resort situated on Brickell Key.

One of the most luxurious five-star hotels in Miami, Mandarin Oriental, Miami, traditionally hosts important international collectors, art world professionals and journalists during Art Week. As part of the joint venture, Art Miami and Mandarin Oriental, Miami, will host a special exhibition of Asian art in the main lobby of the hotel for the duration of Art Week. Brian A. Dursum, esteemed curator and director of The Lowe Museum, will curate the show, with select works from Art Miami exhibitors. An expert in Chinese art, Dursum is a board member of the Florida Association of Museums (FAM), and past President of the Florida Art Museum Directors Association (FAMDA). In celebration of the exhibition, Mandarin Oriental, Miami, will host an exclusive VIP reception on Thursday, December 1st at 7 p.m. in the hotel’s atrium lobby to benefit The Lotus House Women’s Shelter.

Through the partnership, hotel guests at Mandarin Oriental, Miami will receive unlimited admission and complimentary daily shuttle service to Art Miami. Guests will also receive access to Art Miami’s VIP Lounge, which will be presented by Mandarin Oriental, Miami, and designed by Juan Montoya. The VIP Lounge will incorporate artistic, contemporary and subtle Oriental influences consistent with the hotel’s Asian service and luxurious amenities. Hotel guests will also receive a beautiful Mandarin Oriental Art Book.
