China Map Instructions
Use these maps to find the features listed below; HA! pages 182, 184, 221, 237 and Peeps pages 116, 118, 130, 624-625
Label each of the following physical features:
Tibet-Qinghai Plateau
• Taklimakan Desert
• Gobi Desert
• Northeastern Plain
• North China Plain
• Middle and Lower Chang Jiang Basins
Label and color or highlight the following bodies of water in blue.
• Huang He (Yellow River)
• Chang Jiang (Long River)
• East China Sea
• South China Sea
• Yellow Sea
Using the map in HA! page 184, lightly shade Inner China and Outer China different colors. Include these in your key.
Draw a line and label the borders of each of the following dynasties (use a separate color for each and include in your key):
Shang dynasty, about 1122 B.C.E.
• Zhou dynasty, about 800 B.C.E.
• Qin dynasty, about 221 B.C.E.
• Han dynasty, about 80 B.C.E.
Draw a to show the path of the Great Wall of China. Include this in your key.
Draw a --------------- and label the path of the Great Silk Road. Include this in your key.
Draw a ( and label these cities.
• Beijing
• Hong Kong
• Shanghai
8. Either in the key or on your map draw a compass rose complete with cardinal and intermediate directions.
9. Create a title for your map and include your first and last name somewhere on the page.
