What kinds of fish and animals do you see? Yesterday we learned about the Seahorse and today we learned about the Whale. Do you remember the sea animals we learned last week? Make sure to write and draw what you see on your notepad.Art: Milk Gallon WhaleCan decorate the milk gallon with markers and glitter. Ask your parent to cut an opening for the mouth. It’s the LARGEST marine plant in the world.RED ALGAE is another plant we find in the ocean. It likes to grow on top of rocks. One more sea plant is the SEA GRASS. It looks just like the grass outside but it can grow underwater. All these sea plants are important because they provide the animals in the ocean with food and shelter. Today you will make your very own Kelp Forest. You will need:Construction PaperScissorsGlue/TapeMarkersYou will make an outline of some kelp, seaweed, and other marine plants we learned about today. ThursdayDate: August 6, 2020Last week we learned about boats. They help us get across the ocean. Boats stay on top of the water, but there is a special vehicle that can go underwater. It’s SUBMARINE. The ocean is not only big it is also very deep. If scientists such as MARINE BIOLOGISTS want to go to the bottom of the ocean and see all the different types of sea animals they need a SUBMARINE.A SUBMARINE is very big and can go to the deepest parts of the ocean. A SUBMARINE is a for of transportation.Today you will make your own SUBMARINEYou will need:Toilet paper roll x2Construction PaperTape/GlueStrawScissorsYou will cut one of the toilet paper rolls in half. That way you have one long one and one short one.You will wrap the toilet paper rolls with construction paper. You can cut out circles for windows. You can use the following chart to help your child. LITERACY-Make a letter A alligator craft. You will need:PaperCrayonsMarkersScissorsMake an outline of a letter A then have child cut small green squares. Marine Biologists can explore the ocean on a submarine but there is an easier way for you and I to see and learn about the different sea animals. We can go to the AQUARIUM. The AQUARIUM is a special place we can visit. There we will be able to see different types of animals such as a shark, jellyfish, turtles, seahorses, fish of all colors and sizes, and even seals and penguins. It is a nice place to visit during the summer. Today you ill make your own AQUARIUMYou will need:ShoeboxYarnPaperScissorsCrayons/MarkersYou will decorate the shoebox to look like the bottom of the ocean. You will draw and cut out different types of sea animals we learned about and attach them to the box by a piece of yarn.Write the word: AQUARIUM MATH- Today you will draw a picture. First make a line in the middle of the paper. Below the line draw things you can see UNDER water, like a seahorse, what else can you see UNDER the water? Above the line draw things you can see OVER the water like a seagull flying in the sky. What else can you see above the water?LITERACY- Today you will practice the letter P sound:Letter P Song And the letter A sound:Letter A Song HANDWRITING- Walk around the house with a paper and marker. Find words that start with letter A or letter P and write them down on your paper. LIBRARY/ MEDIA- Blippi Visits the Aquarium Blocks:Using boxes and other materials found at home. Build an aquarium.
