ANY AND ALL SUGGESTIONS WILL ALWAYS BE WELCOME.

REMEMBER THAT THIS IS YOUR SHIP TOO!

MISSION STATEMENT

The USS Matrix, NCC-72296, is a Gabriel Class Shuttle Carrier, designed By Doctor James Lythgoe and commissioned by Starfleet on 9711.18. The Matrix is the third ship of Doctor Lythgoe's Gabriel Class, the second oldest remaining in service.

The Matrix is a first response ship for Starfleet. She serves as needed in the defense of the Federation against the Jem Hadar, the Borg, the Cardassians, the Romulans, or any other threat that might arise. While potentially a powerful offensive weapon, the Matrix's primary mission is one of peace, protecting Federation space and promoting the Federation's peaceful existence.

In addition to the gallant role of deep space peacekeeper, the Matrix serves as a portable way station for Starfleet. With its immense shuttle capacity, the Matrix is essential for the fleet's shuttlecraft and runabout maintenance, transport, and deployment. The Matrix is also capable of maintaining, transporting and deploying Defiant and Michael class vessels.

USS MATRIX CREW COMMUNICATIONS

USS MATRIX LISTSERV

The ship's listserv is called ussmatrix. For those of you not familiar with a listserv it is basically just a relay service. When you send a message to the listserv it will automatically forward a copy of your message to everyone else that is subscribed to the listserv. All crewmembers are STRONGLY urged to join the listserv, as this IS the primary means of communication for the USS MATRIX.

When you apply to the USS MATRIX you will receive an e-mail invitation to subscribe to the listserv. Follow the instruction contained within the e-mail to subscribe.

You will receive a confirmation message (with an authorization code), which you will send back as a reply. You will get an acknowledgment that you are subscribed, and usage instructions message from the Listserv. See Appendix E for more detailed instructions, and a sample set of messages.

To post to the Listserv, send your message to

ussmatrix@

and it will be sent out to all subscribers.

For any additional questions, help, or suggestions pertaining to the Matrix Listserv please contact The Listserv Coordinator, at ussmatrix-owner@.

USS MATRIX WWW SITE

Many of the USS Matrix crew files and a basic overview of ship operations can be seen on the World Wide Web. The site is:

""

without the quotation marks. This site should work with any available browser. It has a text version, a low bandwidth (360x720) version, and a high bandwidth (1024x768) version. Note that the low bandwidth page will work with most browsers, while the high bandwidth requires frames.

Any questions, comments, or suggestions concerning the Matrix Web site can be mailed to the Communications Officer at CCO@.

NOTE: This site will always be under construction. If you find something that does not work, please inform the Communications Officer as soon as possible so it can be fixed.

The Ship also has a chat room; located at irc., port 6667. The room is called #uss_matrix, and is available for crew use. Contact the Communications Division for more information.

IMPORTANT REMINDER

The U.S.S. Matrix is a family oriented chapter/ship of Starfleet International. By this we mean, that all materials that are posted to the list server, mush site, holodeck, etc. must be suitable for viewing by all ages. The Internet allows users of all ages to interact with our ship and any material, which is deemed to be vulgar, obscene, sexually oriented, or pornography will NOT be used with any reference to Starfleet International (SFI) or the U.S.S. Matrix. Any individual found violating this rule; will be asked to cease and desist these communications. Only ONE WARNING will be issued. Failure to stop these communications after this warning will result in the individual(s) immediate removal from all U.S.S. Matrix activities and membership, including but not limited to removal from the membership roster and list server. SFI members will also be notified that a letter of reprimand will be sent to the Regional Coordinator and Starfleet Operations for possible disciplinary action. There are other organizations on the Internet that thrive for this type of non-family oriented communication, please use those resources in lieu of our ship.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

MEMBERSHIP

1. No Dues will be collected to be a member of the USS Matrix. Contributions for the Web site and listserv costs will be accepted.

2. Crewmembers are not required to join STARFLEET International (SFI), but are encouraged to do so. Membership in SFI is mandatory for the top three positions on the ship. And it is highly recommended that the members of the Senior Staff consider joining SFI to insure smooth and effective operation.

3. Crewmembers are required to join a ship's division in order to be considered a participating member, and are encouraged to do so. Members not selecting a division will be assigned "Passenger" status by the Executive Officer. It is possible to change Divisions at a later date, if desired.

4. Once a member, all crew must respond to the membership audit every six months to remain active. A simple "Yes I am still a member" is sufficient.

5. Each crewmember is required to have Internet E-Mail capabilities. (Exceptions to this are crewmembers assigned to auxiliary groups of the USS Matrix; Flight Teams, Shuttles, or Special Forces group).

6. Crewmembers may hold one of the following membership types:

|ACTIVE |A crewmember with USS Matrix, is signed up as a crewmember in a ship's division, and has subscribed to the |

| |listserv. Has voting privileges. |

|AUXILIARY |Crewmembers of a USS Matrix Flight Team, Shuttle, or Special Forces group that do not hold an Active, or |

| |Affiliate, membership on the ship. Auxiliary members do not have voting privileges. (The OIC of an Auxiliary |

| |group does have voting privileges and is considered an Active member.) |

|AFFILIATE |A primary crewmember of a different ship, that does not hold an Active membership on the USS Matrix. Affiliate|

| |members do not have voting privileges. |

|PASSENGER |A club member that does not belong to a specific division within the club. Passengers cannot hold positions |

| |within the club and are NOT eligible for promotion. Passengers DO NOT have voting privileges. |

|AMBASSADOR |Honorary memberships that are given to recognize friends of the ship, or to individuals who uphold the ideals |

| |of STAR TREK's brighter future, and help contribute to it through their actions in their community. Also, |

| |bestowed upon representatives from other fan clubs that participate in the USS Matrix Diplomatic Corps. |

| |Ambassadors do not have voting privileges. |

Table 1: Membership Types

PROMOTIONS

As a correspondence chapter it is difficult to come up with an across the board promotion policy. What follows is the Promotion Policy that has been created for the Matrix. This "policy" is to be considered a "Guideline". Promotions are based on participation in Starfleet International's Starfleet Academy, the USS Matrix Command Academy, or the Matrix sponsored Internet Starfleet Academy. There can be other promotions issued at the discretion of the Commanding Officer, based on non-Academy performance (participation and service to the ship). Also note the time in grade requirements that must be met before being eligible for the next promotion.

In Brief, here are the minimum requirements for Officer Rank:

|Captain or higher |Promotion by Admiralty Board of Starfleet, International. (An international Star Trek fan |

| |association) |

|Commander |Pass CQC/OCC. Participate in ship operations to satisfaction of CO. (NOTE: If CQC/OCC is |

| |taken and used for an earlier promotion, a fourth Academy degree other than OBT/OTS and |

| |CQC/OCC is needed. CQC/OCC is REQUIRED to hold this rank.) |

|Lt. Commander |Complete third Academy degree other than OBT/OTS. Participate in ship operations to |

| |satisfaction of CO. |

|Lieutenant |Complete second Academy degree other than OBT/OTS. |

|Lieutenant, JG |Complete first Academy degree other than OBT/OTS. |

|Ensign |Pass OBT/OTS -- Second prerequisite for officer rank. Members CAN NOT be promoted to or past|

| |this rank without passing OBT/OTS and NCOS exam. OBT/OTS is REQUIRED to hold this rank. |

|Midshipman, First Class |Discretion of the Commanding Officer. This rank is used to recognize individuals who have |

| |contributed to the ship but have not met the prerequisite for Ensign. |

|Midshipman |Pass Non-Commissioned Officers School (NCOS), First prerequisite for officer rank. Members |

| |CAN NOT be promoted to this rank without passing exam. NCOS Exam is REQUIRED to hold this |

| |rank. |

|Crewman, First Class |Join Starfleet, International. |

|Crewman |Join as a member of the Matrix. |

Table 2: Promotion Requirements

NOTE: OTS is Officer Training School, OCC is Officer Command College. Both are schools in the Starfleet International Starfleet Academy, and are for Starfleet International members only. These two courses are a requirement for the top three positions on the ship (CO, XO, SO)

NCOS is Non-Commissioned Officer’s School, OBT is Officer Basic Training, CQC is Command Qualification Course. These three courses are USS Matrix specific, and OBT/CQC can be used for promotion in lieu of OTS/OCC. Only one promotion will be given for OBT/OTS or OCC/CQC.

The ranks of Crewman (FC) and Midshipman (FC) are not required to advance to the next rank (you aren't required to join an international/national Trek fan club to advance in rank). However, any Non-Commissioned crewmember who joins Starfleet International (SFI) will be granted the First Class designation (Crewman F.C. if they are a Crewman and Midshipman F.C. if they are a Midshipman) upon verification of membership.

Those individuals who have not completed or do not wish to complete the courses for Advancement to officer ranks may be promoted through the Non-Commissioned ranks. These promotions are granted by the individual's division chief (through the rank of Petty Officer, Second Class), Second Officer (through the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer), and Executive Officer (through the rank of Chief Warrant Officer), by grant of the Captain (CO) of the ship. These types of promotions are for performance, outstanding achievements, and other activities to give recognition for their participation. Normally these promotions are not necessary because of the ease of becoming an officer on our ship.

The U.S.S. Matrix will recognize rank transfers from other Starfleet, International ships, with notification from the other ships' Captain or Personnel Officer. For rank transfers from non-Starfleet, International ships, rank will be transferred at one level lower. Thus, Commanders will transfer in as Lieutenant Commanders, Lieutenant Commanders as Lieutenants, and so on. The Matrix can only recognize non-Starfleet ranks up to Commander. Captain and above must be granted by our chartering organization, Starfleet International.

The U.S.S. Matrix is an active chapter of Starfleet International (SFI). The ship is registered with this international fan club as NCC-72296. The control and operation of this chapter/starship is established according to SFI guidelines. This ship may not leave or be transferred out of SFI without a majority vote to depart SFI by the SFI Active Paid-up membership only. Although, this ship allows Non-SFI members to participate, Non-SFI members MAY NOT vote on Starfleet International Issues.

New members transferring in will be asked to complete the NCOS and OBT courses within 90 days of joining, in order to ensure they have the same level of knowledge of Ships Operations.

Non-Starfleet members of other ships are invited to participate in our activities, but only crewmembers of the Matrix, and Starfleet International Active and Affiliate members may hold positions as Senior Staff.

Contact the Executive Officer at XO@ if there are questions about this policy.

For promotions based on participation in Academies other than the Matrix sponsored Internet Starfleet Academy, verification must be sent to the ship's Commanding Officer, Executive Officer, or Second Officer. A more detailed explanation of the courses involved in promotion follows. For further information, contact either the Executive Officer at XO@ or the Second Officer at SO@.

Approved Promotional Criteria: (Time in Grade)

Effective 9907.01 any crewmember joining the U.S.S. Matrix will be required to meet the following time in grade requirements for promotion. The U.S.S. Matrix has one of the quickest promotional criteria in the Fleet, even with the new changes, and we are proud of our procedures. Many other ships/chapters have multi-year requirements just to become an officer, which the Matrix Command Staff feels is probably ideal for meeting chapters. However, these requirements are just not feasible for our All Internet Correspondence Chapter due to the relative high turnover rate that we experience. Also, please remember that promotions are not automatic, they require completion of required coursework, activity on and to the ship and or fleet as well as time in grade. And finally, ALL PROMOTIONS ARE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE SHIP'S COMMANDING OFFICER!

|RANK |Time in Grade |

|Naval |Ground Forces | |

Table 3: New Promotion Schedule (Effective 9907.01)

THE U.S.S. MATRIX, CREW RANKS AND THE INTERNET STARFLEET ACADEMY, ARE FICTIONAL ORGANIZATIONS AND ARE FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY. NO REAL-LIFE EDUCATIONAL ACCREDITATION IS IMPLIED OR SHOULD BE EXPECTED. PLEASE ENJOY THE USE OF THESE COURSES, AND REMEMBER THIS IS ALL JUST FOR FUN.

Since the U.S.S. Matrix is an all Internet Based club/starship and is geographically diverse, it was decided that three items would determine promotions:

1. The involvement of the crewmember in the ship's operations and activities.

2. The completion of Ship/Trek course work.

3. Time In Grade

The U.S.S. Matrix uses two groups of courses to help with the promotional process; the Internet Starfleet Academy (ISFA) and the Starfleet International's Starfleet Academy Courses.

All of the ISFA courses are available via e-mail from the Internet Starfleet Academy Directors. The directors may be contacted by visiting the ISFA Home Page. A link is provided on the U.S.S. Matrix Home Page to the ISFA. Course completions are reported from the Director of the ISFA School or College (who is responsible for the issuing and grading of the course), to the ISFA Commandant and the Matrix Training Officer (MTO). The Matrix Training Officer will prepare a monthly report for the Matrix's Second Officer. The SO's report will be used by the CO and XO for inclusion in their Monthly Status Reports, and for use in promotional decisions.

The Internet Starfleet Academy (ISFA) was designed to provide a chance for Non-Starfleet Members to learn more about the Trek World. These courses may also be used for promotional credit on the U.S.S. Matrix. Each Division of the U.S.S. Matrix is encouraged to develop a course of study for their particular area. Each curriculum has a Director, who acts as a point of contact and maintains a web page with the requirements for that particular course of study. These degree programs include course work, which may be used for partial or full promotional credit. Other programs require the completion of entry exams as well as additional course work for advancement through the degree programs of Bachelors (BA or BS), Masters (MA or MS) and Doctorate (Ph.D.). The different degree programs must be completed in order and may be completed by e-mail; some Ph.D. programs may require the use of Galactic Snail Mail (Postal Service). These programs can be located by the Internet Starfleet Academy (ISFA) link provided on the U.S.S. Matrix home page at and working your way through the URL links.

The recommended starting point in the ISFA is the Matrix Command Academy. This College consists of three courses to help people become familiar with the day-to-day operations of the U.S.S. Matrix.

The first course is the Non-Commissioned Officers School (NCOS). It tests the student's knowledge on the operations of our ship and the use of our listserv, web pages and additional information located in the Ship's Operations Manual. Information may also be gathered from any officer who has completed the MCA, including division members, Division Chiefs, SO, and XO. Remember that officers are there to help and support fellow crewmembers and should be utilized when needed. When this course is completed and you have been on board for a month, you are eligible for promotion to Midshipman at the discretion of the Captain.

The second course, Officer's Basic Training (OBT), involves the usage of all the previous materials as well as the OBT Handbook and Examination (which will be sent to you via E-Mail). Completion of this course and two months in grade as a Midshipman will make the crewmember eligible for promotion to Ensign, at the discretion of the CO.

The last course in the MCA is the Command Qualification Course (CQC), and does not have to be taken immediately after the OBT exam. This course is required to be in the crewmembers educational history for promotion to the rank of Commander on the U.S.S. Matrix. This course is composed of several scenarios that an officer may face in the day-to-day operations of a starship. All answers for the CQC examination should be in the crewmember's own words and not cut and pasted from the CQC Handbook (sent with the CQC examination via E-Mail). This course is graded on a pass/fail basis and is evaluated by the Captain's Review Board, composed of at least three officers, including but not limited to one or more of Division Chiefs, SO, XO and the Captain. Depending on when the CQC is completed in the crewmembers promotional cycle, if this course is taken right after completing the OBT, (with the appropriate time in grade as an Ensign), this will make the crewmember eligible for promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade (Ltjg) at the discretion of the Captain. However, the crewmember would be responsible to complete additional courses to reach the rank of Commander. Upon successful completion of all three courses the crewmember will have completed the MCA and will be advised to proceed to either SFI's Academy or the ISFA for additional course work for promotional credit.

The Starfleet International courses require that the student be a member of Starfleet International (SFI). Joining SFI is not mandatory for being a member of the U.S.S. Matrix, however, it is highly recommended since SFI is our parent/sponsoring organization. The taking of these courses is only required if the crewmember has aspirations of becoming a Senior Command Officer such as: Captain (CO), Executive Officer (XO), or Second Officer (SO). For these positions the SFI member would complete Officers Training School (OTS) and Officers Command College (OCC). No U.S.S. Matrix promotional credit is given for the completion of these courses if the crewmember has taken the MCA's OBT and CQC for promotion; these courses are an SFI and U.S.S. Matrix requirement for Ship Command Officers. Additional Courses are also available from SFI's Starfleet Academy in many areas of Ship Operations, Engineering, and Medical, just to name a few. Each course is handled differently and requires a nominal charge for taking the courses. More information and applications to SFI and the Starfleet Academy can be found at: .

Merit Promotion

The Captain may grant a "ONE TIME" MERIT PROMOTION for individuals that have provided outstanding service to the ship. This promotion is for individuals that have not completed all of the requirements for promotion due to real life activities, responsibilities, or lack of required documentation. This is NOT guaranteed for any officer; only those officers having provided our ship and/or SFI with outstanding dedication and service, above and beyond the call of duty will be considered eligible for this one time promotion. Eligible candidates must be recommended by a Senior Staff Officer (Division Chief or Above) in writing to the CO, XO and SO, explaining why this person deserves the promotion. Senior Staff Officers wishing to be considered for this one time promotion will have to be recommended by another Senior Staff Officer. The recommending Senior Staff Officer and the Senior Command Officers will discuss the promotion and the Captain will have the final decision on the approval or decline of the promotion. This type of promotion will NOT be given out very often due to the relative ease of our current promotion criteria.

SENIOR STAFF

1. The Following positions shall comprise the Senior Staff of the Matrix. No crewmember may hold more than one of these positions at a time.

|Commanding Officer |

|Executive Officer |

|Second Officer |

|Chief of Operations |

|Chief Communications Officer |

|Chief of Security |

|Chief Engineer |

|Chief Science Officer |

|Chief Medical Officer |

Table 4: Senior Staff

In order to assume command (either the CO or XO position) on a temporary basis, the Officer must be an active member of SFI. If all Senior Staff are SFI members, then Command positions will be given to those individuals who have completed OTS and OCC first, then to those Officers who have not completed OTS and OCC. The CO will post a document stating his selection for Order of Succession upon taking command. This document is changeable at will and may include officers outside of the Senior Staff; preference should be given to the Senior Staff members, but is not required. The officers on the document must be contacted and give consent to their inclusion. The CO, XO, and SO will be at the top of the document by default without exception.

2. Senior staff members are encouraged to register as members of STARFLEET International and are highly encouraged to take STARFLEET Academy OTS & OCC courses. The Commanding Officer, Executive Officer, and the Second Officer are REQUIRED to take and pass OTS & OCC.

The rationale is that the CO/XO/SO need to know about both our parent Trek organization and about the operations of the Matrix. Division heads need all the ship operations and the extra command course from MCA (OTS & OCC from SFI's Starfleet Academy would be a bonus). Assistant Division Heads & Department Heads should have both courses that cover Matrix operations. Asst. dept heads just need the Matrix intro course.

For promotion purposes, OTS/OBT & OCC/CQC equivalents would still be accepted.

Here is a table of Positions and Course Requirements:

Table 5: Position Requirements

Important Note about Senior Staff Positions

A ship the size of the U.S.S. Matrix requires a significant size support staff. The Senior Staff provides administrative support to the CO as well as to people in their respective divisions. The Senior Staff consists of the XO, SO, and the Division Chiefs. Our most experienced and qualified Personnel usually hold these positions. These positions are appointed and/or removed by the Commanding Officer (CO) of the ship. The CO has the authority to remove any Senior Staff Officer that he/she feels is not performing in the best interest of the ship and/or crew. A replacement must be named within a reasonable time frame. All efforts to counsel and/or advise will be afforded to the Officer before he/she is relieved of their duties. However, please remember that these decisions are being made in the best interest of the ship. Senior Staff positions often require several hours of work weekly, supporting their division members and the rest of the crew and should only be accepted if adequate time can be given to the position. Example, you could be the best recruiter on the ship, however unless you keep your division members challenged and interested you will certainly lose them to another division or they will drop out of our chapter. The Starfleet Officers Code of Conduct governs Senior Staff positions just like any officer on our ship.

Command Division Appointments:

Just like Senior Staff positions, these positions are appointed and/or removed by the Commanding Officer (CO) of the ship. The CO has the authority to remove any officer that he/she feels is not performing in the best interest of the ship and/or crew and replace them with another appointed officer. Command Division personnel have specific assigned duties that support the Command Staff (CO, XO and SO). Examples of these are the Training and JAG Officers. These officers are only responsible to the Command Staff (CO, XO and SO) and have no Command authority over ship's personnel. Command Division positions often require several hours of work a week and should only be accepted if adequate time can be given to the position. Please be assured that any Command Division personnel shall be required to follow the Starfleet Officers Code of Conduct.

3. Division Heads (OPS, MED, SCI, ENG, COM & SEC) are requested to appoint Assistant Division Chiefs to help in the running of the division with the ability to run the division in emergency situations.

4. Division Reports will be published by each Division using the following schedule each month;

|Day of Month |Division(s) |

|7th |Command |

|14th |Sciences & Medical |

|21st |Operations & Communications |

|28th |Engineering & Security |

5. The Commanding Officer will publish at least a monthly status report to the crew.

6. Each Division is encouraged to maintain a web page linked to the USS Matrix web site.

7. Each Division is encouraged to create and operate a Division specific College within the Internet Starfleet Academy.

8. Each December a general crew election will be held for the position of Commanding Officer. Only "Active" crewmembers may vote in the election. The Senior Staff shall appoint an election coordinator. The elected CO shall assume command for the following calendar year starting on January 1st. The Election Timetable is as follows:

|Nov. 1 -15 |Nominations for CO accepted by the Election Coordinator, who verifies eligibility. |

|Nov. 16 – 30 |Eligible candidates conduct debates via the listserv. |

|Dec. 1 - 10 |Elections held. Election Coordinator verifies validity of each ballot. Coordinator tallies |

| |results, and reports results no later than December 12. |

|Dec. 15 – 31 |Turnover from old CO to new CO. Change of Command form submitted. |

9. In the event that the CO is unable to complete their term for the calendar year, the Executive Officer (XO) shall assume the duties as Commanding Officer for the remainder of the term.

10. The CO is responsible for the paying of the SFI Listserver Annual fee, which at this time is $0. This is in place of the Chapter Charter Fee that SFI previously charged for all of its ships' annual registration, which is no longer required.

AUXILIARY

1. Flight Teams (sub-chapters) of the USS Matrix must maintain a crew of two to four members. Each Flight Team is fictionally assigned a Runabout with the name of their choosing. Flight Teams are not required to enter the STARFLEET Shuttle Program, or any other organization's chapter-in-training program.

2. Shuttles (Chapters-in-Training) are newly formed clubs, sponsored by the USS Matrix that are going through the Starfleet, International Program to become a chapter. For specific information on The Starfleet, International Shuttle program, contact the Chief of Operations.

3. Special Forces groups (Marines, Rangers, SEALs) fictionally are assigned at least one runabout. Minimum of one person required starting group. They must report to the Chief of Security by the last calendar day of each month.

4. Flight Teams and Shuttles must report to the Chief of Operations by the last calendar day of each month.

5. Each group must have at least one member with Internet e-mail access, to serve as the group's contact person with the ship. The Group's OIC (Officer-In-Charge) or Communications Officer is recommended to fill this role. (Shuttles excluded, but it is preferred)

6. Members of Auxiliary groups are not required to have INTERNET access to be included on the USS Matrix ship roster. Auxiliary group members are not required to fill out the Ship questionnaire/membership form each year. The group's OIC including their names in their monthly report shall be sufficient, unless that member wishes to hold an active or affiliate membership on the crew. OICs and COs are required to complete a membership form, and to respond to the semi-annual Membership audit. .

7. The OIC of an Auxiliary Group has the authority to promote those members of the particular group they serve up to one level below their own rank, but no higher up than the rank of Commander. The OIC must advise the Executive Officer and the Chief of Operations of the promotion and rationale.

8. One special group attached to the USS matrix NCC-72296 is the Marine Detachment. It is called the 787th Marine Correspondence Unit of the 3rd Battalion of the 7th Brigade of the 1st Division of The STARFLEET Marine Corps which is a component of STARFLEET, the International Star Trek Fan Association Inc. (SFI). The SFMC is an office under the Commander, STARFLEET. All members of the crew of the USS Matrix NCC-72296 are free to join this Marine Detachment, whatever position they hold on the USS Matrix herself. The Officer-In-Charge of the 787th reports to the Commanding Officer of the USS Matrix NCC-72296 monthly and reports under direct authority of the Commanding Officer.

Administratively, the Marine Detachment is listed under Security, mainly due to the extensive weapons training and skill residing in the 787th.

The Marines maintain a fleet of special fighters, and are assigned the rear fighter bay in the Engineering Hull.

The Marine Officer in Charge is considered a Division Head, and serves as such during staff meetings and ship wide planning and discussion sessions.

The Marines also have a Marine Academy, which functions as a separate College under the Internet Starfleet Academy. Courses taken count towards USS Matrix promotions in the same manner as other ISFA courses.

AWARDS PROGRAM

The Matrix awards program has 2 types of awards: (1) ones awarded on a yearly basis and (2) ones that are used for immediate recognition. Given that we are a virtual group that has a membership that changes more rapidly than in meeting ships, folks may not remember all the various projects going on (usually only a couple people at most are working on them).

Recommendations for each of these awards are always welcome. Contact the officer responsible for the award to submit your nomination.
