PERSONAL APPLICATION

Meditate on Psalm 78 and record thoughts that are new to your understanding or reminders that stand out. Psalm 78 is a long psalm. You may want to consider meditating on a section each day (e.g. verses 1-8, 9-20, 21-39, 40-55, 56-72).

Read Hebrews 3:1. What does it mean to “fix your thoughts on Jesus” (NIV) or to “consider Jesus” (KJV, NASB, CSB, ESV) “the apostle and high priest of our confession”?

How does meditating on Jesus fuel your faithfulness to God? In other words, how does considering Jesus or fixing your thoughts on Jesus change the way you pray, think, speak, and act?

If you would like further reflection on God’s rest, meditate on the following psalms of rest and refuge and record truths that can help you rest this week. [Psalms 23, 46, 91, 92, 145]
