Primary Functions and Responsibilities

Plans and coordinates activities concerned with installing equipment, investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems with equipment, and eliminating future operational or service difficulties by performing the following duties:

▪ Installs new or modified equipment at customer’s facility according to specifications.

▪ Investigates and resolves technical problems with equipment. Reviews performance reports and documentation from customers and field representatives. Inspects malfunctioning or damaged products to determine nature and scope of problem.

▪ Coordinates problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs.

▪ Provides on-site technical assistance to help troubleshoot and repair equipment. Conducts mechanical and electrical repair; onsite trainings, installation and alignment of lathes.

▪ Provides communication link between the customer and the company to ensure that effective service is provided to the customer.

▪ Develops and conducts training on safe operations of the equipment including to customers. This includes Lockout/Tag-out, Forklift Operator certificates and applicable OSHA, mechanical, and electrical trainings.

▪ Analyzes review and inspection findings to determine source of problem, and recommends repair, replacement, and other corrective action. Reads mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics.

▪ Maintains records of performance reports.

▪ Analyzes reports of technical problems to determine trends affecting future design, production, service, and maintenance processes. Recommends modifications to eliminate future problems.

▪ Performs other duties as required.

Experience and Skill Requirements:

▪ Five years of experience in field servicing Manual and CNC lathes.

▪ Good customer service skills. Ability to respond to and answer customer technical questions/concerns.

▪ Good problems solving and analytical ability are required.

▪ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills is required.

▪ Excellent team building skills. Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.

▪ Perform troubleshooting CNC machine tools, including parameters setting (CNC control, axes and spindle drives)

▪ Able to make parts using; lathe (CNC/conventional),milling, grinding

▪ Has to be knowledgeable in using inspection tools, gauges and measurement devices.

Education:

Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
