The Communications and Marketing Manager will have responsibility for delivering communications and marketing activity for two key programme areas: Bikeability Scotland and Monitoring (levels of cycling in Scotland). Driving specific, organisation-wide communications projects to support Cycling Scotland’s short-term operational plans and longer-term strategic priorities will also be a key part of this role.

Reporting to and working closely with the Head of Communications, within the Promotion, Policy and Monitoring business plan area, this role is based in our Glasgow office with occasional travel across Scotland.

Core responsibilities:

• Plan, deliver and evaluate effective, strategic marketing and communications activity to promote key Cycling Scotland programmes: Bikeability Scotland and Cycle Monitoring.

• Assist the Head of Communications in the planning and delivery of Cycling Scotland’s communications strategy, including leading on projects to support organisational objectives.

• Support and manage two staff within the Promotion, Policy and Monitoring business plan areas

• Manage projects and internal relationships effectively including managing competing priorities, adapting to changes, managing budgets, clearly communicating progress and delivering on key milestones.

• Ensure plans are informed by insight and research.

• Manage agencies effectively, ensuring innovative, on-brand activity and value-for-money.

• Develop, maintain and use systems and processes to support marketing activities.

• Create content for a diverse range of audiences and channels including social media, website, email, advertising and print collateral.

• Secure media coverage to support campaign and organisational objectives, working with our external PR agency

• Work in partnership with key active travel delivery partners to promote successful active travel interventions.

• Ensure all activity is delivered on time, on brand and within budget.

• Deputise for the Head of Communications as required
