-34214067700????November 2017 Monthly News and UpdatesMaryland Awarded Core State Status and Funding through ODEP/EFSLMP-New!Maryland?has once again been selected to receive Training and Technical Assistance (T/TA) as a Core State for the 2018 fiscal year under the United States Department of Labor’s, Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) Employment First State Leadership Mentoring Program (EFSLMP). Core States are eligible to receive up to 200 hours of T/TA to support the state in achieving its goals as an EFSLMP state. Maryland’s thematic areas for this planning year: Capacity Building and Provider Transformation. ODEP was very pleased with our success as a former Core State and has recognized our state as a?leader in achieving results?that have positively impacted the lives of the individuals that we serve through our state’s service delivery systems.It is through strong collaboration with our state partners that has allowed Maryland to continue achieving outcomes toward our shared Employment First vision. We look forward to continued partnership and collaboration. This year’s themes and areas of focus include the follow. Rate Setting Study Published- NEW!The Maryland Department of Health’s Developmental Disabilities Administration released a report on 11/3/17 following a two-year developmental disabilities service provider rate setting study. The purpose of the study was to establish a fair and equitable rate system for services provided to Marylanders with developmental disabilities. The full report can be viewed here.A series of town hall meetings are being held in each of the Developmental Disabilities Administration’s four regions for stakeholders to provide input on the results of the study. State Employment Leadership Network (SELN) Annual MeetingThe Institute on Community Inclusion (ICI) was in Alexandria, VA at the end of October hosting the State Employment Leadership Network Annual meeting in partnership with the National Association of State Directors for Developmental Disability Services.The DDA’s Statewide Career and Employment Services Coordinator, Staci Jones, represented Maryland at the annual meeting, reporting to the group on specifically how longitudinal data is being collected across Maryland to improve both participation in integrated employment and the quality of employment outcomes. Charles County Job Developers Alliance-VideoThe Charles County Job Developers Alliance is a collaboration with the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS), Charles County Public Schools, Charles County Community Rehabilitation Programs, Charles County Commission for Disabilities and the Tri-County Job Source. Charles County Job Developers Alliance created the following video called "Try Me", which was spotlighted during this year’s 3rd Annual Employer Awards Breakfast held in October. This video spotlights the Employment First message that all individuals can work, including individuals with disabilities.
