The goal of reading is to comprehend and apply what is read to real-world experiences.? Our goal is to develop life-long learners who are independent, proficient and passionate readers.?Reading instruction is multi-dimensional and must include the five pillars of reading: Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Vocabulary, Fluency and Comprehension. Effective instruction of these components is systematic and explicit. This is best achieved through a balanced literacy approach that supports the development of students' communication skills through reading, writing, speaking and listening.Mathematics is the study of numbers, shapes and patterns, it uses numbers and symbols. The following are some ideas for doing your best at math.* Practice, Practice & More Practice…* Review your mistakes and learn from them....* Master the key ideas....* Create an area to study that is free of distractions....* Create a?Math?Dictionary with key ideas and examples....* Look for ways to apply math the real life situations….We look forward to helping families in this process.Sincerely,Jody Nelson – 6-12 Intervention TeacherRoxanna Jensen – Lexia reading program ................
