The staff is so friendly and helpful. I have built a very good relationship with both my mentor teachers and they are VERY understanding and helpful in all aspects of being a teacher, and without them I would have been lost. I have learned a great deal from them and regard myself as being privileged to have them as my mentors. Adapting to the new responsibilities of being a teacher was very challenging for me, but I had a great support system that assisted me in getting a hang of things. To date I believe that I have learned quite a lot, but cannot wait to continue learning in this ever humbling and challenging profession. I have my own business Gr. 10 class which I will teach for the rest of the year. I really like this as it brings about that feeling that I am a teacher, I also love the fact that I can build a relationship with a class and to be able to see how they grow and improve. I have also assisted with the cricket scoring and extra maths classes for grade 8 and 9 learners. I think that being involved in other aspects of the school life whether it be sport, cultural or other activities really helps you as a teacher connect better with learners as they can relate to you so much better.General comments by the mentor: ................
