Department: EngineeringReports To: Mechanical Engineering ManagerJob Title: Mechanical EngineerThe Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supporting and creating mechanical designs, drawings, and PCB design outlines in support of new product development and product improvements. Our products include innovative and mission-critical power electronic solutions for both defense and commercial aerospace markets.Key Responsibilities:In this role the responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:Mechanical design and electronics packagingCreation of required outline / top assembly drawings for both products and Sales proposalsPerforming design verification and tolerance checkingWorking with Electrical and Manufacturing Engineers to make critical board outline and component placement decisions on PCB assembliesInstructing production line assemblers on build guidance and drawing content as requiredGeneration, revision, and maintenance of Engineering drawings and parts listsAuthoring of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) in support of product updatesCreation of detailed drawings for use by outside vendors to fabricate partsCollaboration with Manufacturing Engineers in the design of assembly fixturesCollaboration with Manufacturing Engineers in the successful transition of projects from Engineering to ManufacturingProviding assembly drawings and other mechanical design content for our Component Maintenance ManualsRequirements:The successful candidate will have a background which includes the following demonstrable experience, skills and education:B.S. in Mechanical Engineering requiredA minimum of 5 years of related experienceExperience in SolidWorks CAD & PDM environment or equivalentHighly motivated self-starter with desire for growthHigh level of accountability for quality of workStrong writing and documentation skillsStrong verbal communication skillsAuthorities:Ensure compliance with applicable processes and procedures during the course of daily job functionPhysical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, reach with arms and hands, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time and an air-conditioned and heated office. The noise level is occasionally high.
