The theme for this year's competition is ‘Connections through Shallow Seas’ with a closing date of 1st of July 2017.Photos will be judged in the following broad categories:- ?Life in the Shallow Seas?– photos that capture the diversity of life in the shallow seas of Australia-??Landscapes and Seascapes of Australia?– photos that capture natural habitats above and below the waves-?Research in Action?– photos that capture the processes and people behind innovative marine researchTo participate simply take a photo that fits into any of these categories and represents the important role of marine sciences and images in understanding our marine nation. Images must relate to marine sciences. You can enter as many photos as you like!By submitting your entries to the AMSA 2017 Photo Competition you are agreeing to the AMSA Photo Competition Terms and Conditions of the competition.How to enter:You have two options to submit entries to the competition:Option 1: Flickr entryNot Familiar with Flickr?Flickr is an online photo sharing website that is made up of many groups, including ‘AMSA Photography Competition 2017’. Follow the instructions below to submit your image to the 2017 AMSA Photography Competition.Go to Joint the ‘AMSA Photography Competition 2017’ group by clicking the ‘Join Group’ button. If you do not have a Flickr account, follow the prompts to create one.View the Group Description and Group Rules provided on this page. Then scroll down to the bottom and select the ‘I agree’ button.You can then add photos to the group bySelect ‘Upload’ from the top menubar.?Click on the ‘Choose photos and videos’ button, then browse to the file location of your image.Follow the prompts to upload your photo. Delegates of the AMSA 2017 conference will choose the best meme via a ballot system and winner will be announced at the Conference dinner. Entries must be original, with memes communicating any aspect of your research. Original photos from the field are encouraged!Good Luck!!Terms and Conditions:Competition is now open and closes at 5pm AEST 1st July 2017.The competition is open to all delegates of the 2017 Australian Marine Sciences Association Conference.The entrant must hold copyright of any photograph entered in this competition. Australian Marine Sciences Association reserves the right to request supporting evidence.Photo entries will be accepted via Flickr or email in JPEG (.jpg) digital format.Entries will not be considered valid without a completed entry details submitted via email.
