Students who transfer multiple times usually cite poor academic advisement as a key factor in their reason for leaving one school. On the other side, students who remain and complete a degree usually feel that advisement played a role in their success. While some institutions only require advisement during the freshman year, good, thorough academic advisement throughout a student’s undergraduate career can be beneficial to both the student and the institution. This presentation, led by a full-time academic advisor, will provide some successful means of academic advisement as a key to student retention.Presenter:Anna M.
