There are no entry requirements for this qualification. It is preferred that the students have obtained a minimum of school certificate or equivalent and are 18 years of age (or will turn 18) before completing the qualification. Entry requirements may vary dependent on unit selection.

Work placement

This course requires a minimum of 80 hours of logged working hours within an organisation involved in the delivery of mental health to clients. This could include (but is not limited to) nursing environments such as an acute care ward or residential aged care facilities, as well as community mental health care services, child and youth mental health services or residential mental health facilities.
